My Jensen MVN85A overhead LCD Monitor with DVD is not playing sound on the infared headphones. Whe I turn the unit on, it indicates that the IRT is off. I have no option on the remote to turn it back on.

That unit does not have speakers you need IR head phones, or hook it up to your stereo via the FM Modulator.

It still plays but no sound... probably the line going to the screen, but check the settings and try a CD that worked before....

Turn on FM modulator in OH monitor from the menu screen. Set station on screen, tune stereo to station.

Okay first of all im going to assume you are using wireless headphones.If thats the case make sure your overhead will operate wireless hphones. If you can see some hidden leds it does go to menu on your unit and make sure the infrared headphone is turned on.

you have a a problem with unit best solution replace unit short out in one of it circuit

If it's a Rosen dvd player the dvd will need to be put in the unit itself & not the unit in the dashboard! The dvd player mounted in the head ligning is a seperate unit from the stereo system fitted in your dashboard!
Sounds to me like you are putting a dvd into the dashboard stereo system which will play any audio through the car speakers...
Put a dvd into the Rosen unit itself & i am sure you will get a picture on the drop down screen! Remember that as far as i know all Rosen dvd players transmit the sound from the dvd to infra red headphones that should be included! Remember to check the batteries if you still can't hear any sound as they run down quick if the headphones are left on!

It's a mechanical problem and the unit needs to be opened up and serviced by a repair shop.

I just pulled a nearly new one out of our Expedition prior to trading it in. I have the unit only with remote. No mounting braket and I kept the headphones for our new vehicle. Will consider all reasonable offers.
