Okay first of all im going to assume you are using wireless headphones.If thats the case make sure your overhead will operate wireless hphones. If you can see some hidden leds it does go to menu on your unit and make sure the infrared headphone is turned on.

Plenty of cars have sun roofs and roof mounted DVD players,you just need to look at where youre positioning it in relation to the interior slide sunroof trim so it isnt screwed through mounting DVD,and look at the position in relation to the passengers looking at it

my tv screen and dvd player wont come on on my 2003 navi.

I have 8.5" TFT widescreen Monitor Portable for three years. Now when I turn it on, it only has sound, the picture only has one second blink, then dark.
I am now in Shanghai,China, is there a service in Shanghai which I can go physically to get it repaired?

more than likely the flourscent bulb is bad or the inverter is faulty. These act just like a ballast and bulb in flourscent fixtures. These parts are easily obtained but a headache to change.

Dirty laser assembly or Just a bad laser. When you stick the disc in if the laser does not see it at all it will eject the disk out right away. And what you described it has been doing this for a while. I do not know if a lens cleaner will work for you. Generally they have to load to clean. Taking apart and cleaning with Rubbing Alcahol and a Q-tip. might be your answer but this sometimes can be difficult,because generally the mechanism is in the way and restricts access the the laser. If you are good at repairs try cleaning the laser if not maybe take to a shop and get an estimate.
