I have a Chrysler Voyager with DVD monitor fitted on overhead rails. Came to us without any instructions or info - late 2007 model. Put in a DVD in the console on dash and the relevant sound from the DVD plays through car stereo, but the drop down screen is completely black and not a flicker of life - any suggestion much appreciated. Thanks
If it's a Rosen dvd player the dvd will need to be put in the unit itself & not the unit in the dashboard! The dvd player mounted in the head ligning is a seperate unit from the stereo system fitted in your dashboard!
Sounds to me like you are putting a dvd into the dashboard stereo system which will play any audio through the car speakers...
Put a dvd into the Rosen unit itself & i am sure you will get a picture on the drop down screen! Remember that as far as i know all Rosen dvd players transmit the sound from the dvd to infra red headphones that should be included! Remember to check the batteries if you still can't hear any sound as they run down quick if the headphones are left on!
Hope this helps....
If you've got a curcuit tester it may well be worth making sure power is getting to the dvd moniter plus check if the other cable (for transmitting the picture) is all in place?
Is it all factory fitted equipment? ie dashboard stereo/dvd etc & dvd monitor? Reason i ask is because it's possible that whoever owned the car before you put the monitor in with a different head unit & not the factory unit put in from new? Would explain why there's no picture because it has been purposely disconnected?
I'll do some fishing around & see what i come up with.....

my fault.....it's not an a7 rosen (got confused as that's what i had in my old car !) - trying to ascertain what make this one is - but there is def no slot in dvd monitor unit but 2 slots on dash - one says cd/sat nav and the other says dvd (this is the one that plays through stereo if you use it but the monitor does not show any life).
