Re: Sony Bravia remote problems

Re: Sony Bravia 37" flat screen On the remote, can't change channels up and down. We can actually put in the number of the channel we want and it changes, but the actual 'up & down' doesn't work. Help!

Hi,
sounds like you need to "autoprogram" your channels. In the customer menu search for "settings" (looks like a toolbox) select that, arrow down to "channels" select that, you'll see option for "autoprogram" select that. Any channel it sees it will lock in and you shouldn't have to press numbers anymore.

I have a Sony Bravia TV and the screen seems to be locked on AV1 I can here the cable channel but can't see the picture. Is there any way for me to unlock the setting so I can see the picture?

Please try this:
With your remote set on AV1, push the input button and try to change the input using the up and down arrows. You want to set it on cable or whatever your TV input normally says. I have Satellite TV and mine says satellite. You should be able to easily change it with the input button. If you can't do it, change the setting on your remote to TV and then try the same procedure. The Sony Bravia has manual controls on top of the set as well. If you are unable to change your input using the remote, try the manual controls, however, your remote does need to be reset for the correct setting as well. Using the manual controls will just help you check to see if there is actually a problem with your TV. Is this a new TV, new problem?Have you changed batteries in your remote recently?

I hope this helps you. If not get back to me, and let me know.

With my Sony Bravia 46" xbr the screen keeps cutting out. I'm usig hdmi cables and can't find a reason why te tv keeps cutting out. The sound still remains but picture doesn't. Not even out technician can...

Usually this happens to my set when I am in HD cable channel mode after being on a non-digital ANALOG channel.

I basically reset the TV by changing to a DIGITAL cable channel -- stay on that channel for ten-twenty seconds -- then I switch back DIRECTLY to a HD channel (key in channel number directly on remote).

TV works fine -- seems to be a glitch when the TV changes modes from Analog to HD

How do you watch free cable channels on a sony

If you are connecting the cable directly to the TV with no cable box, you'll select Home on the remote control. This will put the menu on screen. Scroll down until you find the Channel Settings option. Set the Cable category to On, Select Auto Program to automatically scan for all analog and digital channels. You can then customize which channels you want to remove when scanning channels.

How do you connect bt vision to a sony bravia kdl 37v4000.I have it working ok on freeview only but the bt vision appears on analogue channel 6 and the vision remote changes the tele channel not the vision...

Sounds like you cant have set up the scart cables properly. Im unimpressed with BT for not setting it up for you, why didn't they?
Plus you will not need the freeview box if you have BT Vision, so i would take out the freeview box and just connect one end of the Scart lead into the back of the BT Vison box then put the other side of the lead to the Back of the TVs scart socket. Then all you need to do now if change the channel to AV1 OR AV2 or whatever channel you have.

How do a program or scann the channels in my sony bravia t.v?

If you're referring to the KDL-40V2500 TV, please refer to the page number 37 in the manual to Auto Program the TV.

Press the MENU button on the Remote. Then, select the ANALOG SETUP SETTINGS.
Then, select the AUTO PROGRAM under the ANALOG SETUP SETTINGS.

Sony 37" Flat Panel Bravia--cant change from channel 2?

Hello,

On the original Sony remote control, try typing in a channel manually. Try pressing the numbers "0-4" or "0-5," and waiting for a moment. If the channel changes, then the TV needs to be autoprogrammed. Using the SOny remote control, go into the MENU (or HOME on some Sony remotes), and look for the initial setup screen. It will walk you through the process. The process is also in the original users manual, available on the www.SONY.com website.

Hope this helps you....
