SOURCE: Has Panasonic rectified its inverter design problems?
Parts for this model (including the inverter) can be had via Panasonic in the US at http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/epartr Canada's safety requirements may be different enough from those in the US that Panasonic does not make the inverters available as a spare up north. Any competent electronics technician should be able to fix the inverter, but many appliance repair shops (and appliance techs) do not do component-level repair. Everyone has his specialty. You may have to call a TV shop to get this kind of service. I would definitely suggest you get a servicer who is authorized to do warranty service on Panasonic microwaves, even though this one is not under full warranty. Follow the "servicer locator" link at the page mentioned above to find such a servicer. I would suggest that you include the last letter when you refer to your model number, such as NNP294SF or whatever the last letter is.

Replace the h.v. capacitor (the silver can mounted in back under the magnatron) and the h.v. diode and it will be fine.
Hope Ya Fix It!
SOURCE: Door latches will not close
If
you gently push up on the door latches (hook-like devices on the door)
there should be spring tension. If they just flop right up, the spring
is off.
Normally the problem is not the spring, but a broken
spring mounting tab on the door latch head (hook) assembly or the inner
door panel.
If it's the door panel, it's usually easier and cheaper to use epoxy and some kind of hardware to fashion a new spring mount.
The door latch head (hook) is easy to replace or repair if that's the issue.
We have critical safety & disassembly info at our site, linked here.
Normally
you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo)
and then you'll see the screws you need to remove.
Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.
The best place to order Panasonic parts is Tritronics. You can also call them at 866-779-5835.

SOURCE: My panasonic microwave stops working after 6
If
it stops after 7 seconds, it has a problem with the inverter.
Due to the lethal
voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an
inexperienced person work on these.
