Question about Panasonic Genius Prestige Nnsd997s Inverter Microwave Oven 1200w Stain
Shuts off after a few seconds and displays H97
H95, H97, H98 or
H99 mean that there's a problem with your inverter,
magnetron, or digital programming circuit.
Due to the lethal
voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an
inexperienced person work on these.

SOURCE: microwave stopped working suddenly, the sreen reads H97
If your oven is out of warranty then i would suggest just getting a new one.
The code is for a bad controller circuit, and it would cost almost as much to fix it as it would to buy a new one.

This oven is
programmed with a self diagnostics failure code system which will
help for troubleshooting, H97, H98 and H99 are the provided failure
magnetron and inverter circuit problem areas. This section explains
failure codes of H97, H98 and H99. H97, H98 and H99 appears in
display window a short time after start key is pressed and there is
no microwave oscillation.
There is not a lot the layman can do except maybe to try a new magnetron.

Testimonial: "That's what I was dreading. Might be cheaper to buy a new microwave than to have a new magnetron put in... sucks only 3 yrs old. Thanks anyway."
SOURCE: Panasonic Microwave Oven showing error
here is the link of how they troubleshoot this code they do not advise anyone to perform this test unless you know how to discharge the capacitors and there is also an extremely hi amount of electricity it might be best to call a service tech but you can have a look at the link usually that error pertains to the magnetron or the invertor haveing an issue http://www.applianceaid.com/micro_faultcodes.html
if you have any further questions message me back Thanks and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in the future in similar situations Thanks Rick

Is a fault in the power supply, usually a faulty inverter.
Here explains how to diagnose and fix it.
You may need to call in a repairman, check the last pages of the owner manual to find out how to call service.
