My Dell 1100mp projector doesn't switch on. I press the power button as usual, orange lisght show and fan starts up, but no image i looked in the lens as soon as i knew something was wrong and it looked like the lamp tried to start up but failed. We checked the lamp and it was all fine! Please Help, Thanks

have almost the same problem. lamp light turned on-->replaced the bulb, now when you turn it on tryies to boot and then the lamp light is on again (but the bulb is brand new).... and no light at all coming out of thing... I guess dell just don't know how to built projectors right way.... and theirs tech support guys are.... they just don't know about projectors more then manual

try pressing and holding the power button but dont release for at least 15sec.mine did that and it seemed to work

How do you hook the lcd projector to a portable dvd player?
The Dell 1100MP has SVideo and RCA input connections you can use, it all really depends on the type of video out connection that your portable DVD player has.

Dell 1100MP turns off randomly. Replaced bulb but same fault ocurrs? Will stay on for 20mins then turn off, re-boot will stay on for 3 hours then turn off. Now has just turned itself off 3 times in 30mins?...
Sounds like a broken fan. There is two fans fitted, if one stops working the it activates a thermal cut out. I purchased a fan from ebay for £5.00 incl postage size is 70x70x20.

We are using a Dell 2300 projector. The Power
check that you have a signal going out of the monitor socket on your lalptop.

On Dell with projector connected and switched on, press the blue fn button bottom left usually, and while holding, press one marked CRT/LCD, (maybe f8) this will cycle to the following.
laptop only, laptop and monitor, monitor only, while holding Fn button press until you have desired outcome.

Dell 1100MP Projector, unit stopped working, I assumed it needed a new bulb months ago. I got one today and it appears it is a fan issue. Lamp/Heat lights orange on start but picture fine, auto shuts off...
There is one last screw that you may not notice next to the lens. You have to take a knife and pop a cap off to get to it

sounds like you have an airflow problem.
open up and clean out dust.
or fan failure.
check fans are spinning when pj is switched on.

Wont start up
Hi,

Pls clean the filters and check the lamp by opening the lamp cover. If lamp looks okay in all aspects then send the projector to any engineer to check the ballast unit of the lamp.

Overheating
Hello,

Please clean the filters for the air and the air circulation path for cooling the lamp.

This will definitely work, pls also check that the condition of lamp is okay or not as sometimes lamp goes with the ballast unit of the lamp and that damages the new lamp.
