My LG top-load 4801 CW washer gives only barely warm water on the HOT cycle. I'cw had two repair visits, and they tell me that the hot cycle is only supposed to be within the range of 75-85 degrees F. There's no problem with my hot water (120 degrees +), the hoses are correctly hooked up, and my washer is only 20' from my water heater. Suggestions?

Change the water valve again ,you most likely got a bad one.The odds of there being no cold water after a new valve is almost impossible. You can test the valve to make sure its working before you go to buy another one.

the fill hoses are backwards,,,reverse fill hoses...on the job...also your under warranty ..call for service but you can do it your self..

Check the hose at the end where it connects to the washer (the inlet valve unit). There may be a screen there also that needs to be replaced or cleaned. If not then the hot water solenoid valve is probably gunked up with the same type of stuff you found in the filter screen. You may be able to clean it enough to get it to work but replacing it is just as easy and not very expensive. (Even cheaper see if you can salvage one from an old machine at the dump or that someone has left at the curb--the units are very standard across many manufacturers in the tU.S.) Both the hot and cold water valves are in the same unit.
Testimonial: "The hot water solenoid valve was the precise problem! Thank you. I told my handy man what the fix likely was and he repaired it for $92. "

This sounds like a cold water supply problem that's usually caused by a problem at the water inlet valve. First, remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens inside the water inlet valve. Make sure they are not clogged with rust or debris. Next, check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty solenoid and the water inlet valve assy will need to be replaced. I will attach a photo for reference. Hope this helps and best wishes.
