Over time the rollers get slick and hard. If one side is slick and the other edge is not, it will grab paper sideways and you get a paper jam. Get some rubbing alcohol and rub the rollers (completely all around) to get some debris removed. Some rollers require a slight rubbing with an abrasive pad.

SOURCE: Photo Paper Feed

hi,

the issue that you have might need to change some settings from the printing properties. WHen you hit on PRINT, a box will open, right? look on the top right of that box, you will see "PROPERTIES" or "Preferences" just click on it, then another box will open. Click on Printing Shortcuts tab, try to review the settings. And if you want to print using the main tray, it should set it to Automatic select or Main tray. And make sure that it sets to General Printing. But if youre going to print a photo, you will have options there to choose what type of paper when you click on that, the settings on the paper size, paper source, etc. will change also. For paper source, make sure that it sets to Photo Tray.

If you will be able to open printing preferences, all options are there, you just need to read and choose which settings you want to use.

Thank you so much.

SOURCE: label sheets won't feed, jam

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

good luck..

THERE CAN BE OIL FROM YOUR HAND OR FROM THE PAPER YOU USE OR THE TYPE OF PAPER YOU USED, THE ROLLERS CAN MATERAIL OF SOME SORT ON THE ROLLER NOT ALLOWING ENOUGH GRIPPING OR PRESSURE TO PICK UP THE PAPER, CLEAN THE ROLLERS WITH PAINT THINNER OR ALCOHOLA, BLOW OUT THE DIRT AND DUST FROM TONER CARTRIDGE BE CAREFUL NOT TO BLOW TO HARD AND DESTROY THE TONER CONTAINER, OR OTHER VITAL PARTS IN THE MACHINE.

OR JUST BUY A NEW MACHINE MOST ARE A TIME A DOZEN ANY MORE.

SOURCE: paper does not feed into lexmark X5470 all in one printer

Rollers could be worn out. Also could be a problem with the paper sensor. Not sure what type of sensor this printer uses. Some just use a pressure switch, others use a light sensor.

Lexmark E250dn , asks me to add paper but paper tray is full, where do i check for the sensors

There is a sensor relay arm under the body of the printer in the hole created by removing the paper tray.
Look for a long thin peice attached to a spring assembly.
There is a wire that plugs in to the relay it may be loose.

You might also remove the paper, push the metal peice of the paper tray into a locked postion and then replace your paper

The paper light won't stop blinking - there is more than enough paper, new toner, new holder in which toner sits and it won't accept manual feed. What's the problem ?

The light sequence means that the output bin is full. Remove printed pages from the output bin.

Press Continue to clear the error code.

My Lexmark E250dn is constantly having paper jams, if I print more than 10 pages at a time I always have to stop and fix it, are there any solutions?

Check the paper feed path if everything is cleaned out and aswell your exit sensor.

If that dosent help clean you pick up rollers.

Also give me more details on more or less where it jams in the printer?

My Lexmark E250dn laser printer is not picking up the paper to print. It sounds like it's trying then it jams up.

I had the same problem on my E250dn. First remove the paper tray. Shut off the printer. Tilt it sideways if it's manageable. Then, clean the 2 rollers directly underneath the printer with alcohol. That solved my problem and hoped yours as well.

How do I have printer switch from empty paper tray 1 to the full 550 paper tray 2

Hi. You need to do tray linking. When one linked tray is empty, paper feeds from the next linked tray. The size and type settings for all trays must be set from the Paper Menu. To set the paper type or size:
1. On the home screen, touch Menu button
2. Touch Paper Menu
3. Touch Paper Size/Type.
Note: To link the multipurpose feeder, Configure MP must be set to Cassette in order for MP Feeder Size or MP
Feeder Type to appear as a menu item.
4. Touch the right or left arrows to select the same size paper from all paper sources to be linked.
5. Touch the right or left arrows to select the same type paper from all paper sources to be linked.
Note: When the Size and Type settings are the same for any trays, the trays are automatically linked.
6. Touch Submit.
Submitting changes appears.
7. Touch Home to return to the home screen.
Hope this helps.
