Lexmark issued a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) back in October for several different printers, including yours, involving a firmware update. http://support.lexmark.com/index?locale=EN&page=product&userlocale=EN_US&productCode=LEXMARK_MS310#1

Have you applied this update yet?

SOURCE: Lexmark E232 - Tray-1 Paper Problem

Have the same problem after 1,500 pages! This was Lexmark's solution (and it worked)...

Take the paperfeed tray out and you will see a red lever , press it
downwards and you will see the paperfeed rollers coming down , you need to
pull the rubber tyres off those rollers and place them inside out over
them and then try printing any document. Check the paper weight and
the paper type you need to use 20 pounds regular paper and try runnning a
can of compressed air inside the machine.
If rubber tyres on the paper feed rollers are totally worned out you
need to replace the feed rollers.

SOURCE: feeds paper crooked

Lexmark printers are hyper sensitive to dust..It might be causing this problem...Take a cotton swab dip it in alcohol and press it against the roller whilw pressing the paper feed button....
If this doesn't work you should try a longer procedure...Remember you have to look real hard..
It's possible that the paper may be running into a foreign object and not feeding in at all. A foreign object could also cause the paper to stall, or even feed-in crooked. Remove all the paper and use a flashlight to look carefully into the paper feed-in area. Look for a pen, pencil, push pin, paper clip, candy, etc. If you can't see anything, then actually pick your printer up and turn it so the paper opening is facing down and shake it a little, side to side. Your trying to dislodge anything that might be stuck in the paper entrance area. If nothing falls out, then turn it back over and use the flashlight to once again look inside that area. Sometimes you'll see an object that may have moved over into view while you were shaking the printer. Any foreign object might block the paper from actually being able to move forward, so then the printer thinks there is no paper installed. You may have to even remove the Top Cover to be able to get a better view of that paper feed area. Unfortunatly, just removing that cover is not always that easy, especially on the newer printers. You may need a Service Manual for reference, disassembly and troubleshooting. I have not checked, but you can normally find Service Manuals for most printers, at www.2manuals.com (most Service Manuals can usually be downloaded for around $10 +/- ). Even if there is not a foreign object stuck in that area, with the top cover off, you might just possibly see what the problem is and even be able to correct it..

SOURCE: Lexmark X73 print/paper problem

Same problem here. Went thru a few tests with Lexmark but didnt help. They next said it would be best to get new one since repair cost would be higher. Thru front door I do see a spring that moves freely. That must be broke. After their help they sent email for 20% off.

after the cleanning send 15-20 empty doc to print (remember - empty, dont use you ink - you dont have to - save money), if all the paper is out from the printer,

I get a "no paper" message from my Canon MP-560 when there is paper in the rear tray. What can I do to fix it?

make sure paper is loaded in right port and paper is inserted all the way. try a few pages at a time, and refer to manual on proper paper path information.

The paper light is flashing. The tray has paper, there is no paper jam. I check everything, put tray back in, press go and after a few seconds, there is a click noise and it starts flashing. What do I do?

The light flashing may mean more things, not just a paper jam. Could mean any of the following:
- Front cover is open: Close the front cover of the printer.
- Back cover is open: Close the back cover of the printer.
- Paper jam: Clear the paper jam. To see paper jams and how to clear them, click here. If the printer does not start printing, press the Go button.
- No paper fed manual feed slot: Put the paper back in the manual feed slot.
- Memory full: The printer memory is full and the printer cannot print full pages of a document. To solve this problem, click here.
- Print overrun: A print overrun occurred and the printer cannot print full pages of a document. To solve this problem, go here.
- Drum Error: The corona wire needs to be cleaned. To see how to clean the corona wire, click here.

I am having problems with my printer feeding the paper. I have tried to unplug from the power source, turn off the machine and have tried buying different higher-grade paper. If I unplug and then plub...

I have the same printer. My solution is never fill the paper tray completely full only about 3/4ths full and never let it get below about a quarter from empty either (I put in a bunch of already printed on pages for the bottom 1/4th of the stack and when those start to print I know its time to add more paper. You can have the tractor feeder replaced (that is the part that sucks up the sheets of paper from the stack) and that will fix your problem but the quote that I was given on mine to fix it was more that the printer was worth.

How to print with the legal paper?

Hi,
follw the given step and check-
1-Before printing your document, be sure the page size is set to legal paper. Go to "File> Page Setup" and then click on the "Paper Size" tab. Select "Legal" from the drop-down menu.

2-Go to the printer and take out the paper tray. Remove the letter size paper.

3-Insert about one half of the package of legal size paper into the tray, depending on the depth of your tray. Larger printers can accept an entire package, while smaller ones cannot.

4-Make sure that the paper goes underneath the metal clips located at both the front and back of the tray.

5-For printers that don't have a tray, you'll have to manually feed the legal size paper. Locate the paper feed either on the front or rear of the printer.

6-Put a few sheets of legal size paper into the paper feed. The paper should be placed as close to the rubber spindles as possible. These spindles will draw the paper into the machine and feed it through the printer.

7-Print a test page.

Thanks,

It won't print - says manual feed - load paper tray. Its a brand new printer (Brother HL-4040CDN) and the paper tray is full

The printer has an "alternate" feed, i.e., for envelopes and/or for special paper.

Open the door to access that "manual" tray, take some paper from the "normal" tray, and insert the paper into the "manual" tray.

Or, on the printer's controls, set the "standard" feed, rather than the "manual" feed, and press PRINT.

Wont grip paper on feed, keeps 'saying' paperjam

I have had this problem after printing a large batch of sheets on a heavy matte photo paper. The roller picks up a 'polish' from the surface coating and then fails to grip. I have tried cleaning the roller, with some sucess, but the best solution I have found is to feed through several blank sheets (just page throws in a Word document) of a ordinary 80 gram paper. Doing this between smaller batches of the photo printing seems to keep things flowing.

Hp psc 1315 paper jam

Hi,

. Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge inside the all-in-one printer to dissipate before putting your hands or any metal tools inside the chassis.

2.
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The 3 hot spots for a jam are before a sheet completely leaves the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and print carriage or between the print carriage and output tray.

3.
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet jammed while still in the front area of the printer. If here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

4.
Pull the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a piece deeper inside the machine.

5.
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed-tray area and print carriage. Carefully remove the jammed paper.

6.
Use the carriage access door to get at a jam further inside the printer. You may need to remove the print carriage to get to the jam.

7.
Replace all parts and return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.
