Poor grandma, I guess we need to try to get this washer fixed for her. If you go to searspartsdirect.com and type in the your model number as "ATW4470TQ0", there's an excellent exploded view diagram under the "Agitator, Basket and Tub Parts" heading. It sounds like the agitator bolt (item 3) came loose and the whole assembly popped off. This should be a simple fix for you. I hope you are able to resolve your problem by reviewing the illustration. If not, please let me know if you require additional assistance. I hope this helps you.
PS DO NOT overtighten the agitator bolt. This can cause cracks in the agitator and spin problems. Just tighten until it is "snug".

Hello, LD stands for long drain.
If all the water isn't out of the unit within a certain time, the ld will flash.
Could be 2 things.
1) There's lint stuck in the pump preventing the water to drain properly or
2) You're using too much soap causing lots of suds also preventing the pump from draining properly. If this is the case, what you need to do is run the washer on full load with no detergent and clothes. Let it go thru the cycle and get rid of eccess suds. This is most likely your problem.
it can be fixed.what you need are agitator dogs.they go in the top part of agitator.you will need to pop cap off and take out one bolt in center if agitator.pull agitator aut and pull it apart.the center piece of the top part will have the old dogs on it.4 little pieces.very easy and cheap repair.
I would suggest washing the clothes without soap until they rinse clear. If you have hard water, the soap will not easily rinse out of clothes, or off of you when you use soap to wash or shower.
Reduce the amount of soap you use in each wash if this is the case. It sounds like your washing machine is working right.
that's funny [feed dogs]they are called, dog ears but you do now have to feed the dogs because their not working.lol.hey you will have to get those parts on-line or at an appliance store.lowes wont carry those that i know.anyway if you pop the cap of the agitator you will see a piece that has a small handle.pull up and remove that piece.then you will see the bolt to remove to pull the agaitator[its a 7/16]take a good look at how its together before you take apart.......ok now that the agitator is out place on floor, put feet on the bottom piece and pull up on the top piece til comes off.then dump out the piece in the top w/dog ears in it........install new ears in that piece and reinstall upside down, inthe top piece of the agitator.then apply pressure on the dog ear retainer and place over the bottom piece of the agitatealigning the two little tabs sticking up on the bottom piece of the agitator with the little cut outs in the dog ear retainer....now take your socket to place bolt back on,put some plastic wrapper or package from dogs in the socket and push the bolt into it.then place the bolt in the hole of the dog ear retainer .now lift agitator up and place onto transmission shaft and tighten bolt and place cover back on................boy that was a lot of words.that should do it for you God bless you Tiffany ,from tom
UUGGGGGGGHHHHHHH, nothin to do but tlet them run there coarse, hope the y dont clog the pump , in which case oyull need to disassemble pump assy and clean from there as well. nothing you can do now except get put what you can and continue using
after removing the agitator from the machine (7/16 bolt) i place the agitator on the floor, step on either side of it and pull up on the top half, ittl come loose, needs a little help! a word of advice though is after replacing the agitator dogs, turn the entire agitator upside down and insert the bolt through the entire agitator assy and keep constatn pressure on the bolt as you turn it boack over and try to realign with thte tranny shat. ( you see the parts wanna seperate as you try to reinstall them otherwise)
