Olympus Om-d e-1 setting up to photograph artwork
I would:
use manual mode and external light meter (if accessible)
use tripod
use iso 200
step down f-stop from wide open (but not more than f5.6)
use 25mm lens (best quality lens you have)
use remote trigger or self-timer
use x-rite colorchecker passport (and calibrate software, like Adobe Lightroom)
jope this helps!
Lines grid
Camera turns on , first black screen then I see red colored Diagnal red lines , kind of looks like wallpaper, have tried, a new battery, wasn't charging before still isn't? Any ideas?
What would be the easiest setting to use for a beginner
The easiest setting would be the AUTO mode. In this mode the camera does everything except decide where and when to take the picture. You can also use the various scene modes depending on what you're taking a picture of.As you gain experience you'll want to use some of the other settings in order to take more control over your photography. I suggest you visit your local library. They should have some introductory photography books which will tell you when to use what setting.
