Anonymous,
If the key code isn't written on the passenger key lock tumbler (this is where it is on most cars) then you'll have to go to the dealership to get the code. Get ready to give up some personal information, and sign some forms because they don't want you to go all "Gone in 60 Seconds" on them. I hope this helps, Ray
Whenever the check engine light is on it means the electronic engine management computer or ECU has recognised a fault that is likely to adversely affect the exhaust gases. While the light is on the ECU has switched to a get-you-home programme. The car should then be driven the minimum distance at reduced speeds to a place where the fault can be located and repaired.
Because on your car the light is flashing the fault is possibly intermittent.
I suggest you take the car for a code read...
I don't have an 08 instead I have an 06 and my manuals are for the 06. Though I would imagine that not much has changed for the HVAC system in 2 years.
So I looked up your problem in my 06 manuals..
Here is what it says.
Turn on engine, select defrost, select maximum blower: Does sufficient air flow from the defroster outlets? You indicated NO: Go to 11: "Go to Air delivery improper"
Now under Air Delivery Improper: Turn engine ON with Blower OFF: Is the blower off? You indicated YES
Place blower motor control in each speed postion: Does blower motor operatate: You indicated YES
Does the blower motor operate correctly for each speed position? You indicated YES (You didnt mention that it did not since its not what you were asking about)
Is the HVAC control assembly inoperative in all positions? You indicated NO You mentioned that it worked in a few of them
Test the ignition 1 voltage circuit of the HVAC controller for an open, for a high resistance or for a short to ground.
Inspect for bad connections at the harness connector o the mode actuator.
Inspect the mode door and any attaching linkage for any binding
Inspect the ductwork for any debris that would prevent airflow through the duct work.
Inspect for bad connections at the harness connector of the HVAC control assembly.
you need to examine the quality of your automatic transmission fluid for any sign of burning, or metallic content. if the fluid is not a bright, clear red, without any greyish residue or strong smells, then your transmissions torque converter is likely in need of an overhaul, although, simply changing the transmission fluid may work as a temporary fix.
white smoke from the tailpiple is a tell tale sign of a shot head gasket. im not sure how your fuel pump is related, but, if you indeed have a bad head gasket, you could brick your engine with further attempts to restart.
examine your radiator fluid for an oily film, and examine your oil dipstick for any bubbles, or other signs of oil and water mixing- these are often symptoms of a blown head gasket.
likely, your rotors are too thin, causing excessive heat, and mal-affecting the abs system. if your rotors check out good, then, it is likely a malfunctioning sensor or computer related

How long does it take for the battery to discharge ? over night, couple of days ? A battery discharging for no apparent reason while the vehicle is parked can be caused by an intermittent currant draw, such as a module waking up, or a continuous draw, such as a dome light or stuck relay or glove box light staying on.
?€¢
Some systems and modules such as OnStar?®, and regulated voltage control (RVC), if equipped, are designed to wake-up, perform a task, and go back asleep at regular intervals. Refer to Control Module References for the system or modules description and operation.
?€¢
Some systems and modules such as theft, or remote keyless entry (RKE) will wake up due to an outside input. Refer to Control Module References for the system or modules description and operation.
