It's the chime that sounds when the door is opened if the key is in the ignition, or the lights are still on when the ignition is off, as a reminder.

There could be a number of problems. One is what year is it 88 or 94. Check yoour vaccum linesalso check your fuel filter mite not be getting enough gas to carry load when in gear. make sure your air filter is clean and not leaking around the seal. could be a throttle sensor. You need to give a more accurate detail of whats going on and wat you checked. also you could have a bad fuel pump. Start the truck in neutral then let it warm up the put into drive.

Check the Battery wires and terminals,replace if needed. Also check all fuses and relays.

a coil of this age is oil filled for cooling and its obviously leaking this oil causing the coil to get hot and smoke as well .not a lot else i can say really but i have to make up at least two lines of answer so its cold here in spain tonight and its been raining all day .

You can probably make it work if you wanna put in the time to do it right. You'll have to build a switch for the window someplace unless it's built into the new door and run a hot wire to it with a fuse inline to protect the system from shorting out. If the switch is still in the door then it is just a matter of connecting power to it.

Either under hood in plastic box labeled fuses & relays or under dash in cab.
