Durabrite ink which tends to turn into hard gel if not printed at least once a week. Its less painful and expensive to just throw the printer out and buy a new one. I recommend the canon PIXMA ip3500.

epson ink is called durabrite, the cheaper cart you got is water based, the head should have been flushed before hand to remove the durabrite ink, what has happened is the 2 types of ink have mixed in
