Hallo I have a problem with my EPSON sx415. I bought new analog ink cartridges (not genuine). I puted it in my printer and tryied to print. But paper was white. So I decided to clean printers head with command in printers settings. I did it a few times, but only magenta and yellow was printing, I cleaned one mor time and now printer cannot recognize 3 cartridges, only black is recognized. What sould I do? I need somthing for free. I dont want to spend more money. Thank you.

You will have to spend more money my friend! the epson ink is called durabrite, the cheaper cart you got is water based, the head should have been flushed before hand to remove the durabrite ink, what has happened is the 2 types of ink have mixed in the head and set. the only way to fix this is to remove the head from printer and have it ultrasonic cleaned, i had the same problem and tryed cleaning products with no affect! the only wat is to get it ultrasonic cleaned, or if you have the epson carts, put them back in and try and get it exchanged if still under a year old. as a new head is about the same price of the printer, however argos has the printer on offer at this min for only £39.99 which is cheaper than ink. oh yea, the reason that the printer is now not seeing the carts is that doing back to back cleans emptys a new set of carts after only 5 or 6 head cleans so your new ink is now useless, sorry for the bad news.

Cant get my ink cartridges to work

This model Epson printer may only let you use genuine Canon/Epson printer cartridges. If you try to refill these ink cartridges it will not work because the Epson cartridges have an embedded chip in the cartridge that detects the empty cartridge even though it has been refilled.

Epson Sx415 New Cartridge,empty already?!?!

1. New original ink tank will dried for several times of head cleaning procedure.

. ....ran a nozzle check and cleaned print heads because it wasn't printing any ink on the paper.... ???
Nothing at all? If yes, problem is in the printer main board. Lost electricity to the head.

My Epson SX415 will no longer recognise non-Epson cartridges. Previously it has warned me that I am not using genuine Epson but has let me continue and print.Frustrating, but it got there in the end. Now...

If the printer is telling you to do this then you may be out of luck... but if the message is cropping up on the computer you can disable the nag screen using this approach:

  1. Go to Printers and Faxes (or the equivalent screen that lists all your printers)
  2. Right click your SX415 printer and choose "Printing Preferences"
  3. Click on the "Maintenance" tab
  4. Click on the "Speed & Progress" button
  5. Tick the "Disable EPSON Status Monitor" checkbox
  6. Click on OK
  7. Click on OK to close the Preferences window
That should about do it...

This stops the nagging at least but I can't guarantee that it will force the printer to continue...

Hope it helps.

Bought new ink, black not working

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?
ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

IF YOU ARE USING GENERIC CARTRIDGES, MAYBE IT WOULD BE BETTER IF YOU DISABLE THE INK MONITOR.

This is the only advice I can give you.

The next step would be to disassemble the Epson, and clean the Pads/Heads. Click on link below.:

woo really this is crazy. does the paper it prints on seem soaked in ink. i mean is it wet and all blurry and smudgy as if its using a tone of ink on the paper, have you tried lowering the settings, really there is no excuse for it using this much ink,. if i was you i would strait away bring it back to the shop you got it from with the recipts for all the ink and ask for another printer strait away and the money for the ink. what yeah think of that for an idea. really there is problem with printer its not sealing the cartage when not in use or its shooting to much ink at once. i think the main problem is its not sealing the cartage when not been used and its leaking the ink this is why u must clean each time because the inks drinking on the dripping cartgaes. hope this helps in some way.

Cannot print black on epson cx7400, I bought new cartridges for all four color, but still it doesn't print black, but it is printing all other colors. can some one can help me out?

I've had nothing but problems with Epson cartridges and drying up of ink. If the cartridge is a little old, say a few months, then don't be surprised if its dried up. especialy if its in warmer weather near a window.

If its new, then make sure that the tape is remved from the cartridge [obvious but I thought I'd mention it].

Also, its expensive, but you shodu lonly use genuine Epson ink cartirdiges adn not genreic brands or refills.. having spent coutless hours reparing ruined printers because someone thought they could save a few bucks.. it ain't worth it in the long run.. buy the genuine ink adn use good quality paper..
