You will have to spend more money my friend! the epson ink is called durabrite, the cheaper cart you got is water based, the head should have been flushed before hand to remove the durabrite ink, what has happened is the 2 types of ink have mixed in the head and set. the only way to fix this is to remove the head from printer and have it ultrasonic cleaned, i had the same problem and tryed cleaning products with no affect! the only wat is to get it ultrasonic cleaned, or if you have the epson carts, put them back in and try and get it exchanged if still under a year old. as a new head is about the same price of the printer, however argos has the printer on offer at this min for only £39.99 which is cheaper than ink. oh yea, the reason that the printer is now not seeing the carts is that doing back to back cleans emptys a new set of carts after only 5 or 6 head cleans so your new ink is now useless, sorry for the bad news.
