Bosch nexxt 500 dryer stopped producing heat a few weeks ago. Cleaned flieter and hit reset in the back panel and worked again. Just stopped heating again yesterday. Wife said it smelled hot while I was at work so I had her unplug it. Not sure if a element is bad or how to trouble shoot.

SOURCE: Where do I find the

Have a Nexxt 3300 and believe yours is about the same so yes, several screws to remove from the back. Top also has to come off because two screws to the back are under the top. And for the top to come off the control panel has to be pulled away. Only four screws under four white caps to remove for panel to be loosened. The top is attached with two screws in the back and four nylon clips under the top. The red reset button will be easy to see after removing the back. It is attached to the heating element housing. It is not hard to do, just a pain to get to the reset button. Link to Bosch appliance website with give you a diagram to help. http://www.bosch-eshop.com/eshop(bD1lbiZjPTAwOQ==)/bosch/us/prodp.htm?prod=WTMC632SUS%2f02&ESHOPTYPE=A Good luck.

A few things to check...

First, check that the dryer vent is not clogged. You'll have to go outside to check. If you are not sure of a clog, disconnect from inside and have your wife hold a flashlight by the vent, then go outside to see if you can see it. This will also cause laundry to dry slower than it used to (your wife may have a feeling if this is the case).

Second, make sure you don't have negative pressure in the house (large house fans are good for cooling but move too much air out so the dryer cannot vent its exhaust gasses well). You can check by opening an exterior door about an inch and check if it swings open with a gush of wind. Even houses without whole-house fans can do this if you have enough bathroom fans and furnace fans going.

Third, If it is a smell of natural gas, then you should call a service technician because the valve is not opening/closing correctly (or fast enough) if you have a pilot-less starter.

SOURCE: bosch nexxt 500 elec dryer has no heat to it

There is a switch located on the duct from the heating element. Which you are not able to reset, you have to replace it if it's defective. Do a continuity test on it and if there is no continuity then the switch has to be replaced.

My Bosch Nexxt 500 dryer stopped heating. All other functions work fine except heat. I've checked continuity on heating element & overtemp breaker- both OK. What else could be the problem? Fuse?

CONSIDER THIS
BOTH LEGS OF AC MUST WORK TO GET HEAT FOR DRYER
Maybe you don''t have power to both legs of your receptacle. Both legs of the 220 volt AC have to work go get heat. Only one leg is used to run the motor etc.. Your motor runs so this can fool you into believing that the electrical connection is ok when it really is not. Your dryer is on a double circuit with two breakers. If one fails you lose one 110 volt leg which can be the one giving the full 220 Volt needed for the heater. This happens quite frequently and people mistakenly replace heating coils. You could have a bad breaker, one of the two. You must check this first before assuming anything else. Get help if you are uncomfortable with potentially deadly voltages

What is recommended load size for Bosch Nexxt dryer

The Bosch Company is probably known best for its high-end dishwashers, but the company also produces other home appliances including refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers. Bosch dryers carry the Energy Star rating. A Bosch dryer has a structured drum that provides more thorough drying and condensation drying for faster cycle completion. If mechanical problems occur with the dryer and troubleshooting efforts fail, performing a reset may return the dryer to normal functioning.
Instructions

1Unplug the Bosch dryer from the power supply and then reconnect to the power supply.
2Replace the local fuse or reset the circuit breaker if a fuse or circuit breaker has tripped.
3Place items to be dried into the dryer and select a program. Close the door firmly.
4Press "Start/Pause."
5Press "Stop/Cancel" if the above steps do not resolve the problem.
6Pull the dryer out from the wall and use a standard screwdriver to remove the central metal plate on the back of the dryer.
7Locate the small red reset button above the heating element and press and hold the button for a few seconds. Release the button.
8Place the back access panel back on the driver and move the dryer back against the wall. Repeat steps 3 and 4. If the problem continues, press "Stop/Cancel," turn off power to the dryer and contact an authorized service technician for assistance.

Sounds like a bad thermal fuse or thermostat, check all of them with a multi meter for continuity. as for the heater going out I would check ur venting inside and out the machine. the fuses and heater blow out for a reason? Usually due to overheating issues? I suspect ur lint build up is the problem?

Bosch nexxt 500 series dryer

I just had the same problem, motor runs but no heat. I had a fun time figuring out how take the front panel off, hint the rubber seal comes off easily. It looks like mine tripped the resettable over heat sensor. So far so good.
