Dear fixya, I have a hotpoint aquarius wma52 which sounds like it grinds when drum turns. I gather it may be the bearing but I don't see how to take off the back and check to replace.thankyou

HI,
First of all, is the noise only heard when the drum is rotating or when the pump is running? This really makes the difference. Sometimes an object can rub on the outer tub during rotation and cause the same noise, other times, I have found foreign object within the pump and caused the same problem. So when is the noise heard is very important to lead you in the correct direction.
I will be glad to assist you if you like

Hi could anyone help me please..My Hotpoint WMA52 keeps flooding

It is not draining properly, or overfilling due faulty pressure switch.
Try cleaning the filter first.
Remove lower rear cover of washer.
Remove large black hose onto bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for obstruction here and in the pump.
Hope this helps.

I am trying to fit a new drum belt on a hotpoint aquarius vtdoo reverse action

You need to remove the top cover, remove the right hand side panel, ease the drum forward and fit the new belt.
It is very difficult to fit the new belt without the proper tool avialable from Hotpoint.
It can be done without the tool, but be prepared to stuggle

Drum makes grinding noise when turning

Hi.
spin the drum by hand, if it feels rough or is noisy, then you probably have drum bearing failure.
Another possibility is one or more of the drum paddles may have come adrift..
These can be replaced.

Suspect bearings gone

I do not advse you to attempt to change the bearing, it is a very involved repair, and you need to know what you are doing. the normal procedure is to change the whole drum assy.
Check with Hotpoint

Noise coming from the drum

If the drum feels noisy or rough when you turn it by hand then the bearings have definately gone.
Not a repair to be undertaken, unless you know what you are doing, and it can prove to be expensive

Broken washing machine

the machine water ceal and bearings must be changed before it spoil the drum.there is small metal under washer drum to give u sine noise if the drum unstable.and if you keep using the the machine, drum get demaged.mostly all front loading machines are like that.the test is,open back cover check if there is rust on the centre shaft, that means leaking throw the ceal and bearing.open the door and try to list up the inner drum if plays means problem with bearings as above.

Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 - Grinding Noise From Drum

This sounds like the min bearings have gone, open the door and see if there is any play up and down on the drum. if so its the bearing if not it could be something that has fallen from a pocket and got stuck between the metal clothes drum and the oute drum casing. a take apart job i am afraid for both issues.
