Have a 50 inch hlp506w model samsung projector tv. it had wavy lines through it, and then turned off. it is continuing to try and turn on with the standby/temp and lamp lights flashing. replaced lamp thinking that would be easy fix, and still doing same issue

Bulb does not do anything but project white light. Wavy lines are a digital board problem. You should have a tech look at it.

You will need a Flash Light and Pull Lamp out ,Look inside and you will see Color Wheel.

this is an inherit problem of this set - - search 'wavy line' and you'll see many samsung sets have this - there is no cure ! use the set with component or hdmi good luck

That is the sustain and buffer boards. Try to find a repair shop to repair on the component/board level because the cost of new boards out weighs the replacement cost.

Color wheel is located next to lamp housing in TV and to replace color wheel, service manual of TV is required as well as expertise, tools etc.
Basically it is qualified TV tech job and novice can damage TV internal.
