Tge Mp4 Player - DEAD Battery

I purchased my Tge Mp4 Player in January 08, Here it is August 08; I've finally figured out how to use the thing (not user friendly at all), and the battery will not recharge.
What's the deal and what kind of recourse do I have.
Thanks in advance for the info

SOURCE: TGE MP4 Player Firmware Upgrade

Did you download the correct version of Firmware? There are 3 different types for your model (i'm guessing you have the HB500).

Not too sure if there is a reset button on the player.. If there is, use that..

Otherwise, download the firmware again and reinstall it

I can at least tell you how to reformat it. Go to http://www.tgegroup.com/en/support/download.htm
and use the correct firmware/driver link. It is going to be in the RAR compression format. If you don't have something that can decompress RAR formats, you can get the free program called autounpack (just google it). After you get the file decompressed and the program installed, you can run the program to update your firmware. There is a box you can check to reformat your player as part of that process. Hope that helps a little.

If MP4 player won't charge or shows battery low, it is most likely the usb cable. You can test it by calling up my computer and if the player show up as a device, it is a good cable

i have a tge hb500 2 GB mp4 player. yeah, mine has a similar problem;

everytime i put songs on it (242 to be exact) it only shows up that i have 200. it is a 2gb, and i still have ALOT of memory space on it. i tried the reformatting thing too, and that will not work for me either. but when i plug it into my computer, it says that all 242 songs are on it. i really need help before i throw this thing through the window. o_0

TGE 2GB MP4 Video Player

I had the same problem, and I solved it by going to "My Computer", right-clicking the mp4 player, and clicking "Format...". The default paremeters were already preset, so I just clicked "Start" in the dialogue box. The paremeters were :
Capacity:  1.87 GB (prolly won't be exactly the same for everyone)
File System:  FAT32
Allocation unit size:  16 kilobytes
I did not check "Quick Format"
Mine now works fine.
Note: I have Windows Vista, and I'm not exactly sure how the formatter will work on other OS's

MP4 , music problem

Normal mode is just the equalizer setting for the player. If you press the mode button an unknown number of times, you should be able to get it to stop repeating. Usually it will repeat a - b the first two times you press it. Hope that helps.

Lost download disc

I couldn't find any software that could make your mp4 works, but if you have windows XP you don't need to have a Cd.
The computer by itself recognize it.
Also if you have the cable just plug it in the new computer and he will recognize it if it is windows XP. but if you have Windows Vista you will have to buy the Disc.
I hope my answer helped you .. Thank you

TGE MP3 Player (2 GB)

TGE has released firmware upgrades to address problems with the unit at their home site - make sure of the model you have, and it is always best to post which model you have when making a post. Their firmware upgrade page is http://www.tgegroup.com/en/support/users.htm
