I have a hitachi 62in. Model # 61swx10b My sound has gone out what can i do or check to fix it?

There is most likely an issue with the Surround PWB since you have the DP17 chassis. I would check the following items on the surround board. I have seen them all several times with the DP17

IT02 Shorted, pins 92 and 93 caused by Solder splash. IT02 Is also known to fail. Also pins 42, 43, & 44 have been known to have cracked solder
IT05 pins 20 & 21 shorted also Seems to have been caused by too much solder.

IS13, pins 1 & 2 shorted ( too much solder

Also check for cracked circuit trace patterns under IT05If you need further assistance let me know.

Why does the sound not work at all and the screen looks like it has to be aligned even after I tried the magic focus?
You need to fix the convergence. Please see website wwwTvRepairKits.com. You must have a model nuber near by. Follow the instructions on the screen. I hope they have something you can work with. Thanks for askng and show a few hands of support!

My 61swx10b the colors wont align the picture's bowed top & bottom & there is no sound
Ur tv convergence are dead.U must have a soldering iron and know how to solder to fix this problems.U must replaced 2 STk convergence ICS,and some or all it resistors.Tries websites like Tv repair World.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it ur self.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

No sound
We had the same problem with our tv. We had to take it to our local radio shack. It cost another 200.00 to fix, but apparently they have seen a lot of problems with the hitachi. They had to order a new module for it. You might want to check with someone who deals with and fixes tv's in your area.

Yes it certainly sounds like you have the old convergence outpuyt IC's that have gone bad in this TV set. If you have the soldering skills, and know how to work on printed circuit boards, you can repolace both of the STK convergence IC's. If you do not, you can get the complete convergence board at http://www.ptscorp.com, and the Hitachi board number is JT22056. Good Luck
