I have purchased a MFC 6490CW printer in Germany. can I change the language in LCD screen from german to english on MFC - 6490CW?

Enter maintenance mode - Press menu & *2864 in this manner
Wait for the machine to display "IIIIIIMAINTENANCEIIIIII " on the LCD. Press 74, follow by 0003 (Germany), press MONO START, wait for IIIIIImaintenanceIIIIII on display. Press 99 to exit.

All the above answers are wrong.
I have the same problem. If it is in German it stays that way. If you must change the language you must change the hardware inside the printer. And that will cost you a price that does not worth it.

Power on your printer. Press the menu of your printer then sect the arrow down or up to select the language menu. press ok if u have seen language then go to option select from german to english.

go to initial set up and choose local language, then check the English lalanguage. if no English then you have to update the firmware.

there does not seem to be anything about language in the settings
what words might be useful ..in german ?

To change the Voice Settings

• Press TOOLS
• then SETTINGS
  
• then LANGUAGE

Press VOICE LANGUAGE and select an english voice

If your text is also in german

• Press TEXT LANGUAGE
• Select ENGLISH
  

and press OK. When you go back to the main screen it should all operate in english.

if you go to the brother web site update your drivers and select the language you want in the process
