You can't. The Laser will only Play +R & +RW.

Non-playable discs

• DVD-ROM • DVD-RAM • DVD-R • DVD-RW
• CD-R* • CD-ROM • PHOTO CD • CD-RW*

* Audio formatted CD-R and CD-RW can be played.

• Playing back discs list as "Non-playable discs" above may
generate noise and damage speakers.

What is the difference between a DVD+RW and a DVD-RW.

DVD-RW
It is the re-recordable version of the DVD-R. To use this type of media you will need to buy a DVD-RW recorder. The DVD-RW recorders usually record DVD-R, CD-R and CD-RW media, too. Similarly to what happens to DVD-R, DVD-RW disks can be played in newer commercial DVD players without any problems. Older commercial devices cannot recognize the media, refusing to play the disk. To play a DVD-RW disk, commercial players need the disk to be finished. After finishing the disk, you can only record new data in it by reformatting it, which makes you lose all the recorded data.

DVD+RW

It is the re-recordable version of the DVD+R and everything that was said about the DVD+R is valid for the DVD+RW. Only the newest DVD players play movies recorded in disks using this format. There are recorders on the market that can record both DVD-RW disks and DVD+RW ones. These recorders are called DVD?±RW. Similarly to the DVD-RW, the disk needs to be finished to be played in commercial DVD players, and to record new data in the disk after having finished it requires reformatting it, which makes all the data in it to be erased. DVD+RW recorders are usually capable of reading DVD-RW disks (but not of recording them) and vice-versa.

There you are.

I have a stand alone dvd/cd duplicator at our church having trouble with. Cant copy onto dvd-r's. Master can be dvd-r or dvd-rw and will copy onto dvd-rw. when i try to copy onto dvd-r's, it will run for...

The two common problems, copier doesn't like color of discs etc, and slowing the speed that leave you've already tried. After those the most likely thing is that one of them has heads that are out of alignment. You could try copying cd's as they have coarser and the heads don't have to be as accurate. If that works then it is very likely it's the heads out of alignment. If they won't record on the cds at all it still can be the heads out of alignment too, but this test may help determine which drive is out of alignment.

I just don't know what program and format to use so I can listen on my AVH-P4900

It can play Audio CD, MP3, WMA, including formats like Video CD (VCD), DVD, Div. It has 4 channels, with In-Dash Player, In-Dash Monitor. Th inputs it recognizes & plays are DVD Video, VCD, SVCD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD (Audio), CD-R, CD-RW. In the radio you can hear AM, F. It has a 6.5 inch dipla. A quote from their website reads "The AVH-P4900DVD lets you take your digital music files with you, whether they're MP3 or WMA format. Burn files onto one CD-R and play them in any mix you want. Use the touch-panel to easily navigate through your file and folder lists to find exactly the song you are in the mood for." I hope this is enough to answer your query!......sodeep

How

Hi there, if its what I think it is this is a common problem. In order for Windows media player to play DVD it needs whats called a codec. Try install a demo of win dvd and try it then, if it works you need to download a dvd codec pack. Use google or another search engine to find them on the net. Good Luck ;)

Dvd writer wont accept dvd-r

If you have posted the correct model of writer, then it only supports the writing of DVD+R and DVD+RW discs, but CD-R and CD-RW disc writing are supported, and it should play all forms of DVD, so it won't burn DVD-R and RW discs, but if it wont play all types then try a cd/dvd cleaner, but to be honest when writers start playing up the lens is normally faulting and a replacement drive will be required.

Problem with original dvd

Before performing any operations, make sure of the following: ? Check the connection with the TV. ? Turn on the TV and select the correct input on the TV to view the pictures or on-screen indications on the TV screen. ? For DVD playback, you can change the Setup menu setting to your preference menu... Alos, make sure thay the system and disc region code numbers are incompatible: The following discs cannot be played back: ? DVD-Audio, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-ROM, CD-I, (CD-I Ready), Photo CD, etc. Playing back these discs will generate noise and damage the speakers. * Note on Region Code DVD players and DVD Video discs have their own Region Code numbers. This system can play back DVD discs recorded with the color system of NTSC and PAL whose Region Code numbers include ?3.?
