My Sylvania 6626LCT TV has a problem with one of the channels. When I enter the channel number (2-1) on the remote keypad the TV switches to that channel number but there is no signal. However, when I use the remote to scroll to channel 2-1 it works fine (I get a signal). In addition, when scrolling through the 2- series channels they are out of sequence (ie. 2-3 > 2-4, 2-1 > 2-2. Everything else works fine and I have two other digital TVs (different brands) that don't have this problem. I believe if there is a way to clear out the TV's memory and start fresh the problem would disappear. Is there a way to clear it? Rescanning all channels has no effect. I even tried disconnecting the AIR antenna and scanning so it finds no channels and then rescanning with the antenna connected.

The previous "expert" sent me to the Owner's Manual. That was no help. That only shows how the unit is supposed to operate. Here is a restatement of the issue:

My Sylvania 6626LCT TV has a problem with one of the channels. When I enter the channel number (2-1) on the remote keypad the TV switches to that channel number but there is no signal. However, when I scroll to that same channel number (2-1) using the remote, it works fine (I get the channel 2-1 signal). I have two other digital TVs, neither of which exhibits this problem. And on the Sylvania all other channels work properly. It seems as though there is something stuck in the TV's memory. Is there a way to clear this out and start a fresh setup. I receive signals via broadcast. Rescanning all channels has no effect. I have tried first scanning with the antenna disconnected so no signals would be found, thinking this would clear everything out. I then reconnected the antenna and rescanned, but the problem is still there.

    JustAskJoe,

I tried a different (Identical) remote and it didn't eliminate the problem. It was a used remote, but everything else seemed to work as expected so I'm satisfied that the problem is not in the remote. Any other suggestions or should I try another FixYa expert?

How to Program a Sylvania Remote
By Matthew FortunaSylvania remotes are popular throughout the United States and the world for their compatibility with a number of television brands. These brands include RCA, Toshiba, Sanyo, Panasonic, Magnavox, Fisher and Hitachi, among others. Like similar remotes, the Sylvania offers a wide range of controlling options and can be synced to work with a cable setup and VCR or DVD player as well. Programming a Sylvania remote can be done in just minutes at home, with no prior experience, and you will be able to use your remote immediately.
credit: Jupiterimages/Photos.com/Getty images
Step Turn on your television and aim the Sylvania remote at the TV and press the volume up or down button.
Step Press the "TV" button on the remote after releasing the volume button.
Step Use the remote's keypad to enter the two-digit code for your television brand. This can be found in your remote's instruction manual or on the link in the "References" section below.
Step Press the "Enter" button on the remote after entering your code.
Step Press the channel up or down button on your remote to finish the program and make sure the set-up was successful.
Step Repeat the same steps, pressing a different component button instead of "TV," to program the other devices in your entertainment center.

How do I change the input on a tv Sylvania LC915SLX without the remote

This may be a stretch, but I had a similar prollum and don't have the TV remote. I have DirecTV, and I accidently fixed the prob by pressing (and holding) the ENTER button on my DirecTV remote. It's next to the 0 (zero) on the number pad. That's all I can tell ya. If you don't have DirecTV or some other remote, dunno what would help. Jim

I can change channels by entering the actual channel number on the keypad, but the channel up and down buttons don't work

The up/down button is worn out (guys do this, since we love to channel surf). Keep the original
remote that came with the TV (they're invaluable), but buy a cheap universal replacement remote
(I got my last one at Dollar General for $8), program it for your TV, and surf with that - you'll
get power ON/OFF, channel up/down, and volume control from any universal remote.

Directv universal remote

ok i have a sylvania tv/vcr combo, similar problem, here's how i got the directv remote (RC23 & RC32) to operate basic t.v. functions:
-First i found the code that worked for the vcr (20000 in my case).
-i programmed "AV1" to 20000, this allowed me to power the tv on/off, change the channels but not operate the volume, so...
-after plugging in the 20000 code (with the slelector switch on AV1 still):
1. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys until the
green light under the TV position flashes twice, then
release both keys.
2. Using the number keys, enter 9-9-3. (The green light
will flash twice after the 3.)
3. Press select
that allowed me to operate the t.v. volume from the remote w/ the selector switch in any position, the only thing is i have to switch to AV1 in order to power off the T.v.
hope this helps in your case

Sylvania 6313CB 13" TV/VCR replacemnt remote

We have a Sylvania 6313CB TV/VCR combo.  I bought a universal remote and the code would not work when I tried to program it to the "TV" button using all those possible codes listed in the books.  So, on the universal remote, there was a button named "VCR" and when I programmed in the code "0000" all worked.  This was a $6.00 universal remote named "One For All"  we bought at the Big Lots store.
Specifically, here is what I did:
Turned TV on Pushed the "VCR" button and light blinked once Pushed and held the "set" button until it blinked twice Released the "set" button and entered the numbers "0000" Pushed the on/off button and it worked including volume, channel up/down and channel change by entering the channel number.
Hope this works for you too.
