I have the Sylania 6427TE model, but sounds like the same problem, except my dogs killed my remote. I am able to operate the tv with my dish remote, but only the basics: on/off, volume/mute and regular tv channels if I want to go off satilite. What is a TV input channel? Bought our first DVD player yesterday and can't get the dish remote to activate the tv's start up menu to I can activate the DVD player. Would a universal remote work?

I have sylvania 27 inch tv (srt2227x). I lost the remote control and bought a phillips universal remote. I programed my tv, dvd, and vcr into the remote. I also figured out how to get it to go into game mode. I now have another problem. I can get it into game mode and get my dvd player to work. However, I am hearing the movies but not seeing them on my tv. How can I fix this problem?

The remote control has a "Game" button, which is how you select the external input. Since you don't have a remote you can select game mode via the front panel Menu button:

1) Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears on the TV screen.
2) Press the VOL(ume) ▲ button so that "PICTURE" is selected.
3) Select the feature you wish to adjust with the CH(annel) ▲ or ▼ button and adjust it with the VOL(ume) ▲ or ▼ button.

GAME MODE: Set to the most suitable position for TV
GAME. [+] : ON [ - ] : OFF

This will place your TV into Game mode and use the front panel video/audio jacks.

I just recieved the Sylvania LC195SLX from my grandfather, it has no remote, but we are using dish network remote anyway, the channel is stuck on 5, and i can't change any channel or get a signal from...

Hello! I hope that you have gotten this resolved, but if not, here are some steps to do so. You can program the remote to the TV first and then use that for this, or you can use the buttons on the TV itself.

Remote to TV Steps:

1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote
2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below)
3. Press the # (POUND) button
4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code

Satellite picture back:

If you are at TV1, where the receiver box is located, the tv needs to be on channel 3 or 4.
If you are using a coax cable, the TV needs to be on 3 or 4.
Depending on the cable that is running between the receiver and the tv, the tv may need to be on an input, such as video 1 or 2. If you are at the TV2 location, where there is no receiver, then the tv needs to be on channel 60 or 73.
If you are using an HDMI cable, then the TV will need to be on an HDMI input
If you are using Component cables, your TV will need to be on a component input. (Usually Comp 1 or 2)
If you are using RCA cables, then the TV will need to be on a VIDEO input (Usually Video 1 or 2)

Dish network control not working on input

Hello, I hope that this has been resolved, but if not, below are some simple steps to run through. Your post was not clear on exactly what is going on. I am unclear as to whether your remote will not go to an input, or if you are getting no picture. Well, if you are getting no picture, you will want to make sure that your tv set is on channel 3 or 4, and the correct input if needed, usually video 1 or 2, etc... If you are in the TV2 room, make sure that your tv is on channel 60 or 73. If your remote is not working to program to the input, follow the link below to reprogram that remote to get all functions working, including the input button. If you are still having problems, or have any further questions, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected].

How can I input my sylvania 27" into video 1 or video 2 without the remote? The menu does not offer a game option nor a video 1 or video 2 option.

Here are the instructions for the TV.
http://www.sylvaniaconsumerelectronics.com/pdf/om/6427TE.pdf
They do not say how to select Video or Game mode without the remote. Try connecting a vcr or game to the input and do the Channel Pre-Select process to see if that will pick up the input as part of the Channel Scan. If it does you will be able to get to Game or Video using the channel up/down buttons. Another option is to get a replacement universal remote that has a code for your TV and will assign a button for Game or Video.

Sylvania 6432td 32" screen

You have to choose the right INPUT on your TV where your DVD player was connected. If your using the Yellow/Red/White cable from your DVD player you need to choose on your TV the input Example Video1 Video2, etc... If your using the COAX,(like cable wire) Put your TV on Channel 3 or 4. Hope this may help you. Please post the outcome, if you need further help. Is this TV is a COMBO?
