I had same problem with a sylvania portable DVD: no disc. After cleaning the laser didn't work, I took the unit apart, and found that there is a small gear that moves the laser back and forth across the disc.. The gear could easily be misaligned with a rough bump along the drive.. All I did was realign the gear to the center where the disc was. Inside, there was even a small lever to pull back on to do this.. I also noticed a small Ribbon cable connecting the laser to the main board. Again, seemed nimble. I detached the ribbon, cleaned the connectors with alcohol and reattached. Happy to say, it works perfectly now. :). Good luck.

its likely that the laser head shifted with an impact, replace it or attempt to glue the laser head down by applying glue to the EDGES of the laser focus head. do not get any on the laser lens.

Hi. It depends on the remote. If the remote app has the codes for your Sylvania tv, then you can use the remote. Check the list of codes that comes with the remote app and if it includes Sylvania codes, then there is a high possibility that the app will work with the tv. Thank you.

The Sylvania LC302SL1 is not a smart TV. You can only use an IR remote to control the TV. Otherwise, look for any universal remote that was programmed in 2011 or later. (Usually it takes 6 months or so for the universal remote manufacturers to get codes for new TVs. The Sylvania LC302SL1 manual has a copyright date of 2010.) There was a period when some phones and tablets included an IR transmitter.
