The manual for the DirectTV RC64 remote that I have does not show a 9-6-1 code anywhere. There is a 9-6-0 to set a button on the remote to match the TV's source function. The manual for this is here: http://www.directv.com/learn/pdf/Remote_Controls/DIRECTVRC64forWeb.pdf . There is a RC64RB remote that does have the RF transmitter and uses the 9-6-1 code to set it. See https://www.att.com/ecms/dam/att/consumer/help/2016/directv/pdf/RC_64RB_Universal_Remote_Control_User_Guide.pdf . Except for E-Bay, the only site with the RC64RB replacement remote in stock is Replacement Remotes, https://www.replacementremotes.com/directv/buy-rc64rb-jets-rc64rb-satellite-receiver-remote-control .

I suspect you have the RC64 remotes that do not have the RF transmitter. I wish that I had better news for you.

These codes control Sylvania TV with the RC65, & I suspect they work with the RC64: 11864, 10171, 11271, 11314, and 11394.

Log onto www.directtv.com and click on equiptment at the top righthand side of the page,then click on remotes,mid page on the right says "program your remote" just below that click on "look up instructions" scroll down to "program your Direct TV remote control" and click on it,click on the model# of your remote control,enter your TV brand in the box and just continue to follow the instructions. Good luck !

I installed systems for Directv, and whenever i went into a home that had a combo tv / vcr, i could never get a set to program properly. At the most on some sets the remote would turn the tv set on and off, but others functions were non responsive.

I hate to say it's unlikely that a "Universal" remote from DirectTV has compatibility with every system and manufacturer. However, my directTV model remote (and there are numerous ones) has a search function with which you don't need to enter a code... it finds one for you. If the control documentation doesn't mention such an option (Code Find), then I'd say your SOL. I'd recommend a Universal Remote made for no specific purpose but to be a UR... using a system included UR never comes off very well. 

I have the same problem.

Go to Best Buy and buy the DirectTV Universal Remote Control ($20 and works with all cable and satellite services) Model RC64. It will control all the functions on the Olevia TV and Satellite box, except the A-B-C-D buttons for the User Guide.
