Machine died I was sewing along and suddenly the machine went completely dark. After letting it sit idle for a bit, I turned the switch back on and it would not respond. It has been dead ever since. Could this be a fuse problem? I just tried to turn on my sewing machine and it is totally dead. I have a Janome 6500. I have unplugged it, tried a working outlet, etc. but no luck.

How do I oil my Model BLE1AT babylock serger? There are no directions in the manual.

This machine is not intended to be lubricated by the user. It has sealed bearings. You do need to clean the lint and cut fabric regularly.

I hope this helps.

Hi, Janome 124 - top thread picks up the bobbin thread, motor sounds good. Th feed dogs won't pull fabric (or paper) thru the machine - dogs don't stick up much above the plate. Help please! Jan

Remove the needle plate and clean the feed dogs with a brush...remove any lint and bits of thread.
A couple of drops of sewing machine oil might help to loosen the feed dogs up. (maybe let the oil seep in and then turn the handwheel towards yourself to help things along.
One other thought:
If your machine has feed dog lowering capability you might want to move that lever/switch back and forth a couple of times.
The feed dogs might not appear to raise or lower, but some machines will only re-engage raised feed dogs when the machine starts to stitch.

Also...verify that the presser foot tension isn't too strong/heavy...and temporarily try using a longer stitch length setting.

Problem with feed dogs and thread catching

Hello Emma,

Hope this helps.
When the feed dogs are lowered they will not go up with just the switch. Try this, move the feed dog switch to the up position, then turn the handwheel 1 complete rotation. Voila they should be up. Let me know if it is solved. Chris

How do i unstick my sewing machine

I'm not sure what you mean by 'unstick'? What is the machine doing (or not doing)?

I've found nothing beats a good cleaning and oiling to keep a machine zipping along. I have had machines sew nicely for hours, then suddenly come to a screeching halt. Cause: a tiny bit of thread or lint that got caught up in the bobbin mechanism. If this is the problem, it helps to use a bright flashlight to look around for the offending thread or lint.

Hope this helps!

I was sewing along fine and then all of a sudden my thread started "birdnesting" I have rethreaded the machine as well as the bobbin. It works great on a practice run but as soon as I go back to my project...

Yes, VERY frustrating! When this has happened to me it has always turned out to be a tiny bit of thread caught in the bobbin assembly. I've rethreaded and rethreaded but could only solve the problem by taking the bobbin assembly apart and finding and removing the caught thread. I use a bright flashlight to help find the caught threads.

Good luck and I sure hope this helps!

Machine died

More than likely this is a fuse problem. This should go to a Janome Dealer or someone who is familiar with Janome/New Home Machines. The fuse is located in a box underneath the bottom of the machine.
