I reinstalled xp on my opti GX270 but i need ethernet controller driver and i downloaded the driver from drivers and downloads of dell support site but its not working

This is the Dell OptiPlex LOM (LAN On Motherboard) driver and should clear up any issues you are having with the ethernet port.
To install the driver you will need to Download it from the above link. Double click the downloaded file once it is complete. Follow the onscreen instructions.

above are the direct links for all the drivers to download. Ensure you choose the correct operating system.

I don't know if there are any Win 7 or Vista drivers, i think there only maybe XP drivers? You will have to look to see... if there are ONLY XP drivers, you maybe able to get them to work, by using compatibility mode.

Just choose your operating system and then you can download your requried driver for free.

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, thesupport download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop,better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on thebottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Taglabel is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages,the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specificdrivers for your model computer are located. On another computer, access the manufacturer's web-site:

Enter 'GX270' and do a search.

Select the "network" device-driver.
Download it. Copy it to a USB memory-stick.

Take the memory-stick to your Dell computer.
Install the device-driver from the files on the memory-stick.

This is the driver page for the GX270 over at Dell, go to the Network tab (after selecting your OS) and should need the Intel Network Driver listed there.
