Light stays Red

My ps2 slimline recently moved with me. It worked fine before, now when I try to boot it up, the light switches to green for maybe one second, then goes back to red, and the disc refuses to spin. I took it apart, tried to secure the ribbon behind the button, but it's fine. Thoughts?

Help. I accidently plugged my 18.5v laptop power cable into my PS2 slim. It wouldn't switch on and I smelt burning. I unplugged it and realized my mistake. The light now stays red and switches green for a...

It can be repaired only by replacing the power pcb module if it is not directly merged with mother board. when you gave 18.5 V DC supply at that time it must have shorted the resistors. since the components are very small hence that pcb cannot be replaced but it can be replaced.

Ps2 slimline wont stay on red light goes on then off

The problem is most commonly the ac power cord. I have a PS2 slimline and I had a power cord that fit into the slot and was completly similar to the original cord ,but you may need to order a new cord to solve your red light situation.

Ps2 slim will not power up

usually, there is a problem with a ribbon cable of power/reset switch. Try using a replacement ribbon of the same type.
