This is a bad wash pump. Looking at about $175 for just the sump assembly. You could do it yourself, but unit would need to be uninstalled.

sounds like an issue with the drain pump, disconnecting the drain hose fromm the trap and run the unit, pointing the disconnected drain hose into a bucket. You should get a fairly strong stream of water until most of the unit has drained, if not you either have a blockage or ,with the grinding sound, a bad pump.
