check the IDE/SATA cable,if its connected,now u must to become sure from lens.maybe it need to cleaning.therfure,if after cleaning this problem still apear,so u must change the board or somethings in it by testing
there ll be a lens in dvd writer which ll be corrupted and disk ll rotate properly even if lens of the dvd writer is spolied... u hv said u hv warranty right do register for a replacement of the dvd disk
if the device is set up as a master and not a slave device it may be interfering with the hard drive. check the jumpers on the back of the device. If it's plugged into the same cable as the hard drive it must be a slave device. Otherwise, check your bios upon bootup to see if you it's trying to boot from the device instead of from the hard drive.
