Sounds like you have a unit that may have bit the big one... there is one more alternative if your willing to give it a try.. the sale a 3-n-1 start assist that goes on the unit.. it has the capacitor and relay built into device and in a sense is a hard start for a froze compressor ... its last resort and i have seen some work for years after installation and others within a day back to same originally results needing a new compressor ... they are easy to install and actually have a diagram on them... you will have 2 power wires that just wire into the current power wires... supco 3-n-1 is one brand to try.. whereever you got the relays should have these devices... again its last resort but may save you several hundred dollars right now... good luck

Thanks ACHEATINGUNL ! I had originaly thought about this the first time, but was not sure on it. My Dad was an HVAC Tech and I saw him do this from time to time. I just did not pay enough attention to what he was doing, but I made an excellent go fur (gopher)...you know..go get this tool...go get that one.
I will give it a try, its worth the gamble.
