SOURCE: (HVAC) Furnace Not Igniting Quickly

Make sure a back draft in the flue is not happening. Wind can blow it out until the flue heats up. The flame sensor may not be close enough to the burner flame. It may be weak and need to be replaced or if its an optical one it may be dirty and not see the flame very well. Its not wasting much gas but it puts extra wear and tear on the gas controls, is noisy, and, as you said, blows cold drafty air. A gas control system that has issues of any kind is not real safe. It needs to get fixed.

I have a Nordyne M1MB. It won't light up. The first fan starts and I get red light flashing 2 times, a couple of seconds pause, flashing 2 times. Please help?

the manual covers the flash codes, lost it?
googling finds all Nordyne (Nortek) manuals.
M1MB-xyz , you left off the number codes of the model
those codes are BTU rating (size)
the red blink codes are on page 38 of your manual
it tells you this.
2= pressure switch is open on the Inducer.

do you know what the inducer is ,it is small main vent blower
if the blower (inducer) does not blow , the switch fails
so step one is test that this small blower does blow.
the inducer blow create at least -0.20 W.C. , pressure, if not the switch is open and FLAME will not happen. (mines good for 17 years)

Amana PTAC cannot be turned on.

sound like a thermister problem, however this may also be a circuit board problem, the system is controled by the outdoor board, check to see if you have a blown inline fuse in the outdoor unit, it will be under a red case in one of the wires.

The front panel display contains seven (7) lights which provide the following information: ? Power-On - Steady green glow indicates that power is being supplied to the Data Silo chassis. ? Temperature Warning - Flashing red indicates that internal operating temperature has reached 43? C (109° F). ? Blower 1 or 2 Failure - Flashing red indicates a blower has failed. ? Power Supply 2 Failure - Flashing red indicates second power supply has failed. ? Power Supply 1 Failure - Flashing red indicates first power supply has failed. ?
