This is quite normal.

Most ovens are fan assisted these days it gives more even temperature distribution and faster cooking times.

You will probably get used to the noise fairly quickly.

Jenn-Air Maytag double wall oven makes loud buzzing noise

There is a cooling fan for upper and lower oven they run at the same time no matter which oven in use it is fed from the oven manager no way to trouble shoot without pulling oven out some models use same fan for both so you could have a blower on hand remove back panels to access fans take a lead off fan to determine which one noisey

I want to use top and bottom ovens but at different temps - how do I do this

To Set a Cook T ime:
1. On double oven models only, press UPPER OVEN or LOWER
OVEN for the one you want to set.
2. Press BAKE or CONVECT UPPER (on some models).
Press the number pads to enter a temperature other than the
one displayed.
3. Press COOK TIME.
4. Press the HR and MIN "up" or "down" arrow pads to enter
the length of time to cook.
5. Press START/ENTER.
The start time and stop time countdown will appear on the
oven display.
On double oven models only, when both upper and lower
ovens are being used at the same time, touch UPPER OVEN
or LOWER OVEN to display the respective cook time.
When the stop time is reached, the oven will shut off
automatically and "End" will appear on the oven display.
If enabled, end-of-cycle tones will sound, then reminder
tones will sound every minute.
Repeat the process by choosing the other option of UPPER or LOWER OVEN

I have recently purchased a Neff double oven UI722 and am experienncing difficulty with the heat control. Most things I cook seem to burn either at the sides or bottom or both . Can you help in any way...

It can be difficult to 'acclimatise' to a new oven particularly if it is a fan oven as cooking times are usually shorter.

Temperature distribution is also different so if you are following your normal cooking temp and time you may need to adjust these so as not to overcook.

Try a few set recipes from the hand book using the set times and temperatures to see if that makes any difference.

Good Luck

Can i slow cook in my oven, does it have aslow cook facility i have lost my manual, if it does please explain what to do. thanks

No, there is no slow cook. The bottom oven works as a normal fan assisted oven and the top oven relies on elements concealed in the floor. The top oven takes a long time to warm up.

Oven switches on and off itself while cooking,

The element in the main oven switches on and off as it reaches the correct temp, this is supposed to happen, however, if you mean the oven is going off altogether, then I would suspect that it is overheating, and the safety stat is cutting the oven off.
Check to see if the top cooling fan is working o/k. because if it is not, then this will cause the prob.

720 EF Fan oven fan making a scrreching noise now

It could be that cooking residue has run down the inside of the fan cover and it is restricting the fan movement. The fan cover is held on by four self tapping screws, one on each corner. Remove the cover and have a look to see if there are any rub marks on the inside. You should be able to remove some of the gunge by soaking the the whole cover in hot soapy water. If that doesn't work, buy the Lakeland brush on oven cleaner - that definitely works - you can use it on all of the inside of the oven. Whilst the cover is off, briefly turn the oven on to see if the fan still makes the same noise. If it does, it looks like the fan bearings are suspect and a new fan may be required. If not you have found the problem with the cover. Page 37 of the Handbook tells you how to replace the circulating fan.

Noise from fan when electric oven is first turned on

The fans are not normally repairable, but there is no problem obtaining replacements.
On a double oven, there are usually 2 fans fitted.
There is an external cooling fan usually fitted on the top of the oven, you would have to remove the top cover of oven to access it, and possibly the rear panel as well.
Then there is the fan fitted in the main oven compartment.
If you open the oven door as it is working, you should be able to determine if it is the fan oven or the external cooling fan that is the cause of the problem.
If you determine it is the fan in the oven that is noisy, then to undo the fan blade assy, you have unscrew the nut clockwise to remove it. as opposed to the normal way of undoing a nut.

Lights grill and fan work but oven isnt heating up

Hi there,

On our oven, we have to reset the clock before the oven will work. I think it's because of the automatic timer features.

Yours is a slightly different model, but on ours we have to press the two buttons with arrows on, at the same time as turning the clock dial. Once this is done, the oven should work again.

Good luck.

Fan on during cooking

djpat, in looking at your schematic, it shows that the cooling fan will be on during bake and broil operations as well as cleaning. So this would be a normal operation. Catriver.
