Why doesn't my hp photosmart c3135 scan in colour? I have a black cartridge & colour cartridge; black needs to be replaced; colour cartridge is fine. Didn't print in colour even when black cartridge was fine. What am I doing wrong?

HP 74 - Black ink HP 75 - Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow ink HP 99 - Photo Black, Light Cyan, and Light Magenta
You need Photo Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, and Light Magenta to print photos. To accomplish this you install the HP 99 photo cartridge where your HP 74 black cartridge usually goes and you keep the HP 75 color cartridge where it's at. I don't know why your printer told you to remove both cartridges, then reinstall the HP 75 color cartridge.
After downloading is finished, unplug the printer USB and run the
software that you downloaded. The software installer will tell you when
to connect USB.
I have changed the BLACK cartridge ( as suggested ) but still cannpt print or move breyond the PROBLEM Note that comes up to CHANGE the Yellow and Black Cartridge - I cannot SCAN or COPY leave alone PRINT - please suggest a solution - Thanks ,
