Belkin Play Wireless USB Adapter (F7D4101) Logo
Anonymous Posted on Nov 27, 2010

Got a Belkin play Adsl modem and USB adapter. It works ok until I re-boot my pc. I can't connect to the Internet, device manager says the driver for the adapter is corrupt.I have to uninstall the driver and then reinstall. It works fine then, I can connect to the Internet until I reboot the pc, then I have the same problem with driver corruption. Belkin support is next to useless. OS is Vista

Tried that, still the same result. Device manager says windows can't load the driver. It is either missing or corrupt. Any other ideas?

Adsl ok (green). But no internet connection (red).

Hi. You can "powercycle" your deviced first. turn off your computers, router and modem (make sure you unplug the router and the modem from their power source), wait for 2 minutes then turn the modem on, wait for another one minute then turn the router on, wait for another minute then turn the computer/s on. :-)

Laptop died and now I cant connect my desktop with the belkin usb adapter. It just keeps saying aquiring network address.

Use the Ethernet cable to verify the router or modem is working and connects to the Internet. If so, then check your wireless adapter in the desk top through device manager - it should detect the Belkin. Also, verify you are entering the correct WEP keys to access the wireless connection to the router or modem - sometimes it gets typed in wrong.

Can't even connect to "setup assistant"

it sounds like you need to keep using your usb modem to connect to the internet. then setup internet sharing on the computer and connect the wireless router to the network plug on the computer.....

then basically you are sharing the internet to the plug on the back of the pc into the router and then wirelessly out to the network and PS3

Belkin Dongle

You have to make sure first that the working pc is getting its internet connection from the BELKIN and not from the modem. To check that, right click the computer icon at the butoom right of your screen, click detail. ip address that is ok is in this form 192.168.xx.xx. If you are getting like 74.xx.xx.xx, that means that you are getting connection from the modem. THE MODEM ONLY GIVES ONE CONNECTION, MEANING THE ROUTER IS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. After doing this you can give a follow up question.

Setting up linksys adsl2 modem

The ADSL, Ethernet, and USB ports are located at the back of a Linksys modem. These ports are where the phone cable and computer will be connected. The ADSL Line should be connected to the ADSL port and the computer either be connected to Ethernet or the USB port., If u r using a ethernet cable no need to run the setup cd just connect the ethernet cable and contact ur isp..
do not worry about ur sagem modem, let it be inside.. just connect ethernet cables alone..

To setup a Linksys ADSL Modem with usb cable you need to perform two steps:
  1. Connecting the Devices Together
  2. Installing the USB Driver
Connecting the Devices Together
Step 1:
Connect the phone cable to the wall jack with ADSL service and then connect the other end to the ADSL port of the modem.
Step 2:
Make sure the power adapter is plugged to an available power outlet.
Step 3:
Connect the USB to the USB port on the back of the modem and then connect the other end top the USB port of the computer.
Step 4:
Power on the modem. After connecting the device together, install the USB driver. For instructions, follow the steps below.
Installing the USB Driver
Step 1:
Power on the computer.
Step 2:
When the Hardware Update Wizard window appears. Click Install the software automatically (Recommended).
NOTE: Windows XP has pre-installed drivers for the ADSL2MUE and will automatically install the USB driver for the modem.
Step 3:
Click Finish.

How to set up network on belkin G+ wireless usb adapter

do you have a Wireless Router + Broadband modem?

This is like a base station to which your remote wireless node communicates (to get connected to your home network and internet.

something like this http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=187337 for an ADSL connection.

If you are on cable, you can either get a Router similar to the one above (but for cable) http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1138056788757&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=8875739789B01

or if your Cable modem has LAN ports you may just be able to use an "Access Point" to add Wireless capabilities. http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1126536803676&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=0367639789B22
