Hi,
not as far as I know I don't have an e2 (just an older palm) but I did check the E2 manual and the instructions were the same.
With mine there is a bit of a knack to timing it right.
If its like mine you hold the power button and keep holding it while you press and release the reset button while still holding the power button until the logo comes up then release the power button. You also need a good charge in the battery.
Give it another go and I will have a look around the forums to see if there is another way or any tips...

Need to troubleshoot a Sharp 70" LED TV: Symptom: No Picture, not responsive to controls.

Hello Doug,
I would suggest to test all the voltages in the power supply, If all the voltages test OK then It's more likely that the main board is causing the LED not to be responsive.

Can't use touchscrren - i've don't soft resets - no luck cleaned the screen won't calibrate

Try doing a hard reset. To do this you can follow these steps:

1. Press and hold the power button.

2. While holding the power button, use the tip of the stylus ( or a similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button inside the hole on the back of your hand held.

3. Wait for the Palm2.gif Powered logo to appear, and then release the power button.

4. When you see the message that warns you about erasing all of the info on your hand held do one of the following:
a) Press UP on the 5 way navigator button on the bottom of your hand held to finish the reset and show the touch screen.
b) Press any other button to do a soft reset.

5. When prompted , tap to align the screen, and then set the language you want to use on your hand held. A screen appears showing the Palm logo and a progress bar. From there continue to set up your Palm and then do a hot sync. Best wishes....Hope this helps.

Palm Z22

Just had to do a hard reset myself and it's not straight forward! While holding down the power button, BRIEFLY press the reset button on the back of the palm. DO NOT RELEASE the POWER button until you see the GRAY screen with the Palm logo (not the first screen with the palm logo). That should start the hard reset for you.

Pls help me for power on fail

If your Treo loops or freezes during a soft reset, a system reset may help. Performing a system reset allows you to get out of an endless loop in order to uninstall a third-party application causing the looping: 1. Press the Battery Door Release button and slide the battery door downward to remove it from your Treo. 2. While pressing and holding Up , use the tip of the stylus to gently press the reset button on the back of your Treo. 3. When the Palm Powered logo appears, release Up . 4. Delete the third-party application that you suspect is causing the problem. 5. Perform a soft reset. The wireless features of your phone are not available until you complete this step. Good luck!
