My headset quit working. It's dead - is there a battery that I should be changing?

Why do you think you need to replace the battery? A common sign that your Motorola Bluetooth headset needs a new battery is when you repeatedly hear five quick high tones in successive, one-minute intervals. Another symptom of a low or dead battery is when you try to scroll to Power and your headset doesn't come on. The Motorola H500 headset has a long battery life, but the battery eventually will go bad. Unfortunately, the battery is integrated as part of the headset's circuitry and should not be replaced by its user. Motorola strongly advises against trying to change the battery. But you can try the following at your own risk:
Locate the battery door at the rear of the headset and open it.
Remove the old battery. Install a new battery to match the plus and minus illustrations on the battery compartment. Shut the battery door back in place.
Select "Menu" on your phone. Select "Settings."
Select "Connection," "Bluetooth Link," and "Setup."
Select "Power." Select "Change."
Select "On," and then press "Select."
Press the "Call" button and hold it down. Release it when the LED light blinks.

Are the battery termials clean and tight Check wire coming out bottom of shoud. May be unplugged.

On your base there are the numbers 1-4. Put the # 1 in the 3 O'Clock position like a clock. Try putting the letters that are in the bottom on B.

Try letting the battery go dead on the headset, then recharge it back up and see if that fixes your problem.

your battery inside bluetooth is bad replace battery.

since you have not used it for more than a year, it only mean that the battery is totally drained, you just have to be a bit patient charging it. just wait til the light gets on. if after an hour or so and it's still the same, then it's time to change the battery or the headset itself.

I used your site to research the problem further. I found an answer which recommended rubbing the suspect terminal lightly with a pencil eraser. It worked! I now have battery power and my headset works fine.

Sounds like your battery is dying and the unit is saving energy.

A fully charged battery should last up to 4 hours if it's being used A LOT! But I lost mine and it was in standby mode for pretty close to 3 days and when I found it I was still able to use for quite awhile before charging it again.. So yes, it sounds like it had a weak battery..
