The fan on my living air purifier doesnt turn anymore. Occasionally when I first turn the fan on, it will "try" to turn but stops almost immediately. do i need to replace the fan motor? Is it something I can do myself?

Sometimes you have to give the fan a push with your finger. If that didn't work, check all connections, fuses, etc. Sometimes things get jarred. If you changed out the connections at the ends of the wires (they include new ones with the replacement motors) you may need to make sure that you connected and/or crimped them correctly.

The filter will probably needs replacement. Ionic breeze purifier are not being manufactured anymore because of heath concerns. New model use a completely different technology. Parts are also not distributed anymore.
I suggest replacing the ionic purifier with a different air purifier.

Wow, the purifying plates have been is use for over 8 years! I think that your problem, try a new set of plates. You can contact the company at 800 989 2299 to order some new ones. Or you can email me stevelam at ecobusiness dot com and I can help you get some plates. Hope this helps.

About your Ionic breeze purifier, I wanted to report that they are not being manufactured anymore because of heath concerns. New model built from 2008 use a completely different technology. Parts are also not distributed anymore, and the new Sharper Image does not provide any support for the old model.
I suggest replacing the ionic purifier with a different air purifier.

Mine has a switch lower right hand side that will stop the ozone.

The fan motor is probably locked up. You can either put a little oil to free it up (usually a temporary fix) or better yet replace the fan motor.
