I believe you are asking how to delete the call ID log<?>.

If you can identifiy the (caller ID/right) key on the large round multifunction button of the handset, do the following.

To delete all the Caller ID numbers, press (caller ID/right) key when the phone is in standby. Press MENU/SELECT and select
Delete All. When the phone asks you to confirm, select Yes.

Notes:
• When you delete a Caller ID number, you delete it permanently.
• Caller ID numbers are stored separately in each handset. Deleting a record from one handset will not delete
the record from any other handsets.

Caller ID
If you subscribe to caller ID service, information about each caller appears after the first or second ring. If you answer a call before the caller information appears on the screen, it will not be saved in the caller ID log. The caller ID log stores up to 50 entries. Each entry has up to 24 digits for the phone number and 15 characters for the name. If the telephone number has more that 15 digits, only the last 15 digits appear. If the name has more than 15 characters, only the first 15 characters are shown and saved in the caller ID log. Review a caller ID log entry Press CID when the phone is not in use. Scroll to browse through the caller ID log. When the desired entry appears: Press repeatedly to show different dialing options. Press 1 repeatedly if you need to add or remove 1 in front of the phone number. Press or to dial the displayed number. Call block
If you subscribe to caller ID service, you can set the telephone to block unknown calls and certain undesired calls. The call block list stores up to 20 entries. Block unknown calls Press MENU when the phone is not in use. Scroll to Call block, and then press SELECT. Scroll to Calls w/o num, and then press SELECT. Scroll to choose Not block or Block, and then press SELECT. Add a call block list entry 1. Press MENU when the phone is not in use. 2. Scroll to Call block, and then press SELECT. 3. Scroll to Block list, and then press SELECT. 4. Scroll to Add new entry, and then press SELECT. 5. Enter the number. • Use the dialing keys to enter the number (up to 30 digits). 6. Press SELECT to move to the name. 7. Use the dialing keys to enter the name (up to 15 characters). Additional key presses show other characters of that particular key. 8. You have a 7730 PHONE. The system is not determined, but in analog going forward it could be a TA-624/824 or TAW-848.

see if it is turned off at the provider. ring and ask for the codes to turn them on and off.

These phones use a "Shared" memory, the CID information and the Phone book information share the same memory chip. If you clean out the caller ID data you should be able to load more numbers in the phone book. Since you have an 8885 I am assuming you have TCX800 or TCX905 handset(s), to clear the CID memory, Follow these steps:

Deleting Information from the Caller ID List
1) When the phone is in standby mode, view the Caller ID
information to be deleted (see "Viewing the Caller ID
List" on page 50).
2) Press the DELETE soft key. De let e C all er ID appears.
3) Press volume up/down to choose Yes.
4) Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone.

To delete all the CID information follow these steps:

2) Press volume up/down to choose Y es.
3) Press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone

If you scroll to the number you want deleted, you will see in the center button delete, you may have to do this for each handset and base...

try to copy all the contacts on a paper then delete all the ph book contacts and write them again make shure that when you write the phone number with the area code if its like that on your ph book
