Hi, is there suction when you open the top of the wand handle?
If no, have you emptied the container. next check the tubes that are removable, you may find there is a blockage of hair and bits, have you removed filter and given it a goos wash.
pets in house? check all hose passages for "hairball" clog...and check the drivebelt that spins the brush...(some have an electric motor to spin the brush, thus no belt)
Make sure all filters are cleaned out and entry ways are clear of all debris. Remove hose and check for blockage. Usually the low suction can be remedied when all filters are cleaned. Hope this works for you.
if you take out the dirt cup at the top there should be a half moon orange that releases. inside of this half moon is a washable filter. rinse with warm water and let it dry completly before putting back into the machine. this should restore your suction. hope this helps.
Its a possibility then that if the fuse has been replaced that the cable inside has either come apart or you have a broken switch. If its only a year then you should be covered automatically with Hoover's guarantee.
Its activated its thermal cut off. Check the filters - if the paper pleated cone filter is blocked throughly tap it gently to loosen dirt before washing it completely and drying it in a low temp tumble dryer (put it in a pillow case with a towel inside the pillowcase to stop it knocking off the sides in the dryer.) Also check the main dust channels behind the bin and also behind the beater bar as it may well be clogged. Then reinstall everything and check again.
There must be a restriction or blockage in the carpet suction pipe. Look at the port where the hose connects to the machine and check for any accumulation of debris or blockage. The same motor drives both suction inlets so it can only be that there is an obstruction.
NO suction- no blockages on the Alyx. Beats me- there must be a leakage in the sustem- can't detect it- the machine minus the cyclone sucks hard.
