Re: Can you transport a refrigerator in the lying down...
Good day, It should never be done. I won't get into the technical reasons, but make every effort possible to move it in the vertical position. If all fails, and you must, do not plug it in for a minimum of 24 hours. This will allow time for the oil that drained out of the compressor to return.

In most cases no, the reason they don't want them to be laid down when transporting is because they have oil in the refrigerant lines. When the unit is laid down, the oil pools in pipes and can cause issues if the unit is plugged in immediately after being stood up. In order to reduce the chance of something going wrong, allow it to stand up right for 24 hours before you turn it on.
HI,Yes for most refrigerator you do have wait because the oils come out of the compressor so the oil must settle back down. But some refrigerators you do not have to wait if laid on their side, if it was new in box it will say on box "lay this side down" if not better safe then sorry.
You do not want to lay that refrigerator on its side because the refrigerant will leave the compressor and fill the system with liquid refrigerant where it should only be existing in a gaseous state, and if the refrigerator is tilted far enough over or lay-ed onto its side then the refrigerator will have to stand up-right and un-plugged for at least 24 hours before the liquid refrigerant will settle back down where it belongs, and then the refrigerator should actually function again if there was no other damage caused when moving the unit.
Yes, you can lay a refrigerator down.... but... Before you move that thing read this tip about how to lay a refrigerator down so that you will not hurt it...
