Sometimes the door between the freezer and refrigerator ices up making the air flow stop or slow significantly. Difficult, but unload both parts and let it sit turned off for several hours or overnight with the doors open (Full defrost) . Plug back in - hopefully this works.

Most likely that the evaporator inside the freezer is a solid lump of ice. That usually happens if the defrost heater or defrost timer has failed. It may also be the circulation fan, but less likely. You need to remove that panel at the rear. https://www.whirlpool.ca/en_ca/kitchen/refrigeration/refrigerators/top-freezer/p.whirlpool-30-wide-top-freezer-refrigerator-with-flexi-slide-bin.wrt318fzdw.html ..

The manual for the UW8F2CXLSB gives the normal defrost procedure. Remove food (you can set the freezer to a lower temperature or the Fast Freeze setting to super chill the food first for several hours). Store the food in a cool location. Then remove the freezer drawers and turn off the unit. Leave the freezer door open and put some towels or other absorbent cloth in the bottom to soak up the ice water. Replace the wet towels with dry ones as needed. Once defrosted, clean and dry the freezer before turning it back on. Then return the food to the freezer. There isn't a fast defrost that I know of for this Whirlpool freezer. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Your drain is stopped up. The water is freezing because it has no where to go. Clear the drain line with compressed air.
