I have a bissell power steamer That is not spraying soap, only water. I have checked all the filters and belts that I know of I also tried to reprime the pump as indicated in the trouble shooting section. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks

where can I get a new cao and or insert?

The machine is not dispensing soap. When turning the dial to 'water rinse' it dispenses water, but only if I turn it off and let the vacuum wind completely off, then turn it on again.

If I turn the dial back to any of the 'soap' positions (light clean, normal clean, heavy traffic) it quickly loses pressure and then stops spraying anything at all, or sprays very little at all.

It's as if there's a vacuum leak in the lines, or a pinched line, but I can't seem to find any problems, and the unit was never taken apart previously (i.e. how would the problem start in the first place).

Any ideas? The pump, motor, belt, etc all seem to be fine.

I've also tried blowing out the lines with my air compressor, and that hasn't made any difference.

If it spraying water, then the pump is ok. The valve at the bottom of the soap bottle may be bad. Also when you turn the smart mix vavle, does it turn easily or hard, if hard, try spraying some furniture polish around the knob and turn it to work in in, if it turns all of the way around and doesn't stop where it is supposed to, then the knob or the top under the knob is broken.

Sounds like you need to replace the cap and insert for the soap bottle which may come with the bottle.

Try Bissell.com or a local repair shop should be able to get it for you.

Water line routing

The biggest prob with Bissel is not pumping soap. Becuase if you don't run hot water through this tank the soap will dry and clog after cleaning and storing. Before taking it apart try running hot water through the solution tank and help break up the residue, best of luck. Steve

Won't spray wate rwhen you press trigger.

When the water won't dispense that usually means that the pump belt is usually stretched or broken. Here is a link to the belt you need and a manual you can view:

Sounds like either the pump is not working or the collection unit has an air leak.

Bissell Power Steamer Pro

The belt has broken and needs replaced. bissell uses a belt driven pump. ther ar two belts, one for the brush, and one for the pump. all can be replaced through the belt access on the left hand side of the machine.

Bissell power steamer - upright deep cleaner - Does not **** water

If this unit has an onboard heater ( a little red lite in the center of the handle) then most likley it is the problem. You see the heater which is located inside the large portion of the handle has a very small passage that snakes its way throught and heats the water as it passes. The problem is that the water and soap are mixed before the heater which is very very hot and when you turn the unit off and the solution stops moving and hardens in that little passage while the heater cools. To fix this you have to take the handle appart allong with the heater and clean it out. To prevent this in the future make sure to turn the heater off and run just clean water through the unit before you put it away. This unit also has a belt that runs the pump check to see if the belt is in good shape it could be stretched but not broken I would suggest replacing it anyway just to be sure. You can buy the belt allong with other parts for this machine at www.stevessewandvac.com
