Replacement USB cable/docking station?

I recently moved into a new house. After unpacking all of my boxes I noticed that my USB cable for my HP Photosmart M420 digital camera was nowhere to be found. I have searched online at HP.com and have not yet found a replacement USB cable or docking station that specifically says it will fit the M420. There are, however, a few that will fit on the M425. Will accesories for the M425 also fit the M420? If not, are there products on the market that are specifically meant for the M420?

All you need to do to backup the files on your old hard drive is by using a Hard Drive Docking Station. you can take your hard drive to a local store and ask for a docking station that would fit on your hard drive, the docking station is like a device the you can connect to your computer using a USB cable.
Once you have it, your old hard drive will just function as an external storage device.

My HP 2840 Printer not fully functional via USB with my HP KQ752AA Docking stations (running Windows 7 32 bit), but if connected directly to the laptop it works...what is the problem w/the docking station?
Are you using the same cable to connect? The 2800 series printers do not tolerate USB cables over 10 feet and I have had some that would not connect properly unless a 6 foot cable was used. If you are using the same cable then it is possible that the drivers for the docking station are not installed properly on your laptop and you might need to update them from the manufacturers website.

If it has been hiding for 4 years the battery is probably broken. Your should still be able to find a new battery on ebay for it. Or maybe from HP but it will cost a bit more.

a usb cable will work... the docking stations are handy as you just put the camera/camcorder into the docking station ... no extra cord... often has the charger built in as well
