CLP-350N laser color printer. prints perfect in color but pages with black text, black is faded. Yet the monitor shows black toner is 75% full. Thank you nightowel007

Hi there.The problem is not in your toner cartridge.It time to take the printer to service shop and ask them to clean your laser scanner unit(LSU).The dirt in in you LSU is stopping the laser and your prints are coming faded.You will be amazed from the differents before and after the cleaning.And the cleaning process will be cheap.

This is a very common problem with the Samsung CLP 300 and CLX 3160 printers. What happens is that the toner or developer blades become coated with toner. The developer blades meter the amount of toner that the printer uses to make the image on the paper. When the blade become blocked, the image become faint. To fix this problem, you and either replace the imaging unit for about $100 or you can clean the blades yourself. I have posted instructions how to clean them on my Tips section.

Possibly a full waste toner container. I had the same problem, took pout the waste container, tilted it and tapped it to get toner away from the sensor window, and then it printed perfectly. I will empty the container ASAP before it overflows.

Here is my solution, hope it will solve your problem.

From your post, I believe your CLP-350N printer has enough black toner. The black cartridge is on the far right side of the printer, so the black toner is harder to go to left side of the roller than right side. Everytime we start the printer, it will move some toner of each color to the roller before it shows ready to print.

Because we always use B&W printing when we start the printer, but less Color printing. The result is there are always enough toner on the 3 color rollers, but the black toner is lean on the black roller. When this gets worse, the left side of the black roller may hardly get any toner at all -- so it only print black on the right side fo paper.

Step by step solution
(CAUTION: Never loss balance while tilting printer! You may drop and damage your printer! Hold the printer firmly all the time! Ask someone to help you if needed!)

Here, front of the printer is where you can access the cartridge, back of the printer is where you connect the power cord and USB cable, left is your left, right is your right.

1.Lift the front to keep the printer tilt to its back at about 45 degree
2.Power on printer while it's tilted back, wait untill green light is on
3.Open the front door, red light will be on, then close the door, printer will start up again,wait untill green light is on
4.Repeat step 3 once again, then put the printer back to level position
5.Lift the right to keep the printer tilt to its left at about 45 degree
6.Open the front door, red light will be on, then close the door, printer will start up again, wait untill green light is on
7.Repeat step 6 once again, then put the printer back to level position
8.Print some test page to see if there is any improvement of black print quality.(Hold the printer button for 3-5 seconds, it will print the test page.)

You may try several times and print several pages each time before you finally cure the problem.

sounds like your black toner cartridge is getting low or not filled evenly. To fix this until it get a bit lower on toner just take the cartridge out and holding it up right give it a few shakes side to side. The will spread the toner power out inside and you should be printing normally again.

This can also happen if you moved or bumped the printer. Usually you only see this when the toner is low or after you print a lot of pages. Most text is in the mid of the paper so thats where the toner get s used the most.

remove the toner cartridge from printer and shake it well and insert it back and see the result of print

The problem is that the black developer has a defect. You cant't solve this problem by your own, you have to call the service. The service tecnician change the developer and make a FW Update.

I had the problems with white smear type fading on one side of the page , when pritning black, but colour printing seems OK. Did everything suggested in the manual and more. Changed toner. Been working on it a week.  (I got 2000 pages out of that thing). 
Now I have the solution. Bin the Samsung and buy a Canon.

Samsung CLP-300 color laser leaves 3-4 lines of various shades of black in middle of paper. Otherwise everything is great.
