Xbox has burnt electrical smell

Probably main electrical connection at terminal box shorted.

If you had a short in the starter motor windings and held the key, you'd get a click and a burning smell. That would be the insulation burning off the electrical windings. There's a 40-amp max fuse in this circuit.

Burnt smell after starting 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. A lot of time a chemical smell is the result of blown capacity where the electrolitic is leaking out. Large caps are used in the moter start circuit and are usually located close to the motor. After awhile there will be an impact on the motor starting and the performance of your machine.

If it is the belt slipping you would get a burnt oil smell. If it was the blower motor or the drive motor it would be more of an electrical smell - burnt plastic type.

It could very well be a bad power supply or power cord. Do you have one of the following power cords??

Most likely you will have to send it in. If you have one of those warranty's from the retailer you got it from, you can probably take it there.

Open the service panel and check that the heating element is clear from any lint on it. Be awre you should unplug the power cable before touching the heating element. Good luck!

make certain that you have both the XBOX and TV connected to the same AC ground.
