Will not read game and makes noises

Check your belts, it might be time to replace them.

its cause the game probably is kind of scratch or the laser lens its damage or its dirty. the noise its normal because its trying to read the disc.

mate make sure the case of your umd is correctyly placed and put your finger on the umd (where it spins) its like a little circle color silver move it with your finger and make sure it spins..

Its nothing you should really worry about as long as the game works all the umd is doing is reading at a higher disk speed (i.e faster loading times) also happens with ps3 at certain times

Is this happening with every UMD? If so the laser has gone bad. Google tutorials on how to replace it or have it replaced.

it might be that your lens that reads the psp is dirty so it cant read them

ooo, thats a tough one, check if the drive is free of dust, and clean the laser with a q-tip and alcohol.

one of my old friends had the same problem, but we never figured out. does the drive make the noise when u put in the umd?

I started to have this problem with the games that I play all the time. What I noticed is that the game starts to sink into the case. I got mine to play by first, pushing on the reading side of the disk. Later, I had to take the plastic front piece off that has the UMD label. You have to be careful because the actual UMD disk can come out after that. You also have to be careful because you don't want to crack the whit case that holds the UMD. I hope that this helps.
