My Sansa Clip died after installing Rockbox!

I just purchased a Sansa Clip 1gb player. I updated the Sansa firmware so that I could install Rockbox onto it. After the Rockbox installation, I removed the player from the USB and it seems to have died. I've tried every suggestion on possible ways to turn it back on but nothing helped. What can I do to power it up again?

Maybe installing Rockbox makes your device corruption. If plug the device to pc, the pc still recognize it, update new firmware from sandisk official site, http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/
Good luck

My computer does not recognize my sansa clip

font.f1 {font: 12.0px Times} Hello and thanks for contacting FixYa Technical Support.

Anytime there is an issue where your Sansa clip is not recognized by your computer, run the firmware update for your version of Operating system (Windows, Mac or Linux)

Firmware is software for the hardware itself, so if there is a case, where the hardware connecting via a USB port like your Sansa clip is not recognizing, going to the manufacturer's website and updating the firmware for their specific product you purchased, is a step in the right direction.

For your benefit, I have provided the link to the Sansa Support page, where you can download and install the most current firmware update for your Sansa Clip.
Download Sansa Firmware Updater

Also, for regular operation of your Sansa clip, make sure you are following these steps for use of this device:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. Turn on the Clip
  2. Put the device in Hold (move Hold button until orange is showing)
  3. Press and hold the Center Button
  4. Plug the mini-USB connector into the device (be sure the USB is plugged into the computer)
  5. Wait for the Clip drive to mount
  6. Follow instructions below and drag files to the Clip drive
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let me know if this helps.

Its just frozen

Hi there,

Well first of all you can try the following steps -
1. Unfreeze a frozen Sansa Clip by pushing the power button up and holding it for 20 seconds. Release it, and then turn it on again.
2. Go to the Sansa website and download the "Sansa Firmware Updater."
3. Select "Run" when the updater installs. (Installation will take less than two minutes.)
4. Wait for the Sansa Firmware Updater to run through its system test. It will ask you to connect the Sansa Clip to the computer to update your Sansa's software.
5. Connect the Sansa Clip and then remove it from the computer when instructed. If this process does not unfreeze your Sansa Clip, contact Sansa support at the Sansa Firmware Updater website.

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Sansa e260 doesn't recognize my 8GB sandisk expansion card

Sandisk sansa e200 series players only allow up to 2GB expansion, BUT with rockbox firmware up to 32GB is available. Only download rockbox firmware if your familiar with transfering and installing files.
Rockbox firmware can be found at http://www.rockbox.org/

Sandisk Sansa C250 won't recognize 8Gig micro chip

Your model doesn't natively support SD cards over 4GB, however I hear you can install something called "Rockbox," it's a free third party firmware that allows you to dual boot between "Rockbox" and the Sansa firmware. "Rockbox" adds the support you need for SD cards with a capacity of 4GB or more. I've never used this firmware, but it does sound promising.
Download it here
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Sansa e260 firmware

Mine was a bit more FUBAR I guess. I have a Sansa e260. I had rockbox on it, went to switch back to the firmware. Uninstalled rockbox and on reboot... the e260 was refreshing the database and then came to a frozen green screen.

My e260 was already in MSC mode. I did the steps above but was still stuck.

The solution that worked was one posted by "Slaughter" on anythingbutipod.

The ultimate fix for all e2xx v1 problems - Format, enter recovery mode, downgrade firmware Link (you'll need to format the drive), reinstall newest firmware via newest Sansa Updater, reload tunes.
